John F. Kennedy International (JFK) Airport Information
Location and Transport
Better known in its abbreviated form of ‘JFK’, John F. Kennedy International Airport sits just under 20 miles (30 kilometres) from Manhattan. To reach the city, hop on a JFK AirTrain; there are three lines which stop at every terminal and various rail and metro stations around the city. The MTA NYC Bus is the cheapest way into Manhattan, but also the slowest. Catch one from Terminal 5 and expect a journey time of around 50 minutes.
Nearby Hotels and Airport Facilities
Plenty of hotels and motels are dotted around the outskirts of JFK, and many offer courtesy shuttles to and from the airport. If you’re feeling hungry then the airport’s food court provides a wide variety of tasty options.
Terminal Information
The airport’s eight terminals are quite spread out, but the free AirTrain shuttle makes it easy to travel from one to the other. Just remember that the service is only free when travelling between terminals. Passengers with connecting flights may be required to pass through immigration – a passport, visa or ESTA may be necessary.

There wasn't much that I liked about this hotel.
There wasn't much that I liked about this hotel. The hotel service was really bad. It was 25 degrees outside and cold in the hotel on one side of the room by the window. The heater was barely heating to my satisfaction and all I had was a thin cover. I asked the attendant at the desk for a blanket, and he looked at me as if I was from another planet. He suggested that I turn the temperature to the ideal setting of 78 degrees. The heater worked for a while and then it wasn't as effective later in the morning. I would suggest better service and a blanket at least.

You don’t get a bathroom for your room.
You don’t get a bathroom for your room. You are supposed to use a shared bathroom with three other rooms. The place is dirty, with hairs everywhere and piles of things. There was no top sheet on the bed. No towels. The walls are paper thin and you can hear noise from the other rooms. I left. This place should not be on Booking.com and I am shocked they have it listed.

This is the first time I have been in Jamaica and I had only one day and one night there so I did not have much exploration in this place. My impression was the community here mainly are the colored residents.

For me, this hotel was adequate to spend the night in order to catch a flight the next morning. I think it was overpriced for the room with it's non-functioning lamps and a sink that didn't drain well. At least it came with an airport shuttle and continental breakfast. The cleanliness was a little questionable but it was dark and difficult to see. The night reception staff were not very friendly but they were courteous and check-in was quick and easy through booking.com. The only "food" places that were open when I arrived at 8 pm and just next door were a Burger King and a Popeye's.

Arverne is up and coming since the new houses went up.
Arverne is up and coming since the new houses went up. There are also more eating-out options available than ever before. I know this neighborhood well, I lived here for like 15 years. The convenience of having the beach a block away and public transportation also a block away is a definite plus. There are some areas one might want to stay away from but it is getting better.

The bed was extremely comfortable, the room nice and quiet. Basic soap, etc. The room smelled like weed which I didn’t like and parking was eight minutes away but a decent price. Dunkin’ Donuts across the street was great for breakfast. I liked that it was closer to jfk.

Just flew out of JFK in the snowstorm after spending 8 days in the Manhattan Club hotel. We had a couple of issues in our room on our first day, but everything was quickly & efficiently resolved. The room was a one bedroom, two bathroom suite. Lots of space for a family of 3. The huge plus for this property is its staff!! All employees are happy, efficient, courteous & always willing to engage in conversation when traveling in the lifts or meeting in the corridors. Front desk super helpful. Thanks for a great vacation.

Location, near the subway (yellow, orange and blue line, direct to JFK), near SW corner of Central Park e 5 minutes walk to Times Square. Old hotel, old room but enough for a quick stay in NYC. The location give this hotel extra point.

Friendly reception team, offered a car service direct from the Hotel to JFK, had no idea that was an option prior. Well air conditioned room and warm which was great when it was 0 degrees at midday when I was there.
