It was nice to have a separate bedroom and living room/kitchen area. The kitchen area had plates, utensils, dish soap, and pretty much anything needed for our stay. My husband did a little work while away and was able to set up his laptop on the dining table while my son watched television on the sofa. Overall, the room was clean and spacious.

Love the area! Rock Citys “Enchanted Forest” was beautiful. Definitely puts you in the Hallmark Christmas mood. Southside Social was really neat bowling, darts, jenga, cornhole etc….(bowling & pool additional $), food was really filling as well! Wish the skatepark was open (believe it’s closed for remodeling). Went to the Chattanooga Market-which was awesome!! So many vendors and music. They were also doing the wing competition amongst having a large selection of food trucks.
Definitely check out Rock City (for views) and Mr. Ts (for icecream).
Also went to Ruby Falls, but once you’ve been in one cave tour kind of thing.

Getting around Hixson is very easy, as far as road...
Getting around Hixson is very easy, as far as road accessibility, but the GPS seems to go off just a little bit every now and again. But the re-routing was not bad and it was easy to get back on the right track. I was here for a specific event and didn't do any outside touring, but it is so close to Chattanooga and there is a lot to do there.

The long, winding drive up puts you in a different part of the world with great views and its own little community of restaurants. Enjoyed our stay, the sunsets, the birds and meals at local places like Massey's Kitchen and Lalito's Mexican.

We were coming back from picking up my son in GA who had completed walking the Appalachian Trail. All of us had been to Chattanooga before and just wanted to get home so we just needed a clean, nice place to stay.

There are lots of activities for young and old.
There are lots of activities for young and old. Outdoor activities top the list with the mountains, the national park, caves, river, and more. You can avoid the Chattanooga crunch (crowded) and stay in Fort O and be only minutes away. Lots of food choices, but Fort O is more "chain restaurants" and economy dining. However, there is lots of southern cuisine locations all over the area. Chattanooga is full of mid to upper scale places with very good chefs. I'd recommend Public House if you are looking for fine dining, and Boathouse Rotisserie for a nice meal on the river. These are just 2 of many spots for foodies.

We really didn't see much of Hixson - we got to the motel after dark and left as soon as we packed up and ate breakfast. If travelers want to be close to the sights in Chattanooga, they might consider a motel closer in to Chattanooga.

We chose Ooltewah because we were visiting friends who live there. It was a good location, close to Chattanooga. We ate at the Local Goat which was very good. We had also wanted to eat at Il Primo, but it wasn't open on Sunday.

We love Chattanooga! Very friendly city and so much to do! It's a 3 hour drive from home, so easily a day trip visit if you pre plan. Great food, busy but not unmanageable, lots of parking, lots of restrooms, great parks, great weather!
