Stayed only one night. Couldn’t stand the smell of stale smoke everywhere. Got put in a smoking room, immediately asked to be switched and got put in a “non smoking room” where the smell was still sickening. The Spa is filthy; filled with dirt, broken tiles, broken drains and black mould. Stayed only one night not 4!!

We were very thankful for Mehmet who was not proficient in English but promptly attended to our queries and issues in the evening. We used Google Translate to communicate. We had to set off for a tour early one morning so we requested a simple breakfast to go, and Mehmet made it happen. Hotel breakfast was delightful. Location was peaceful. Good heating in the room.

Very clean and quiet hotel with high value of services and few meters away from istinye park where there are a lot of shops and restaurants but also next to tram line that you can discover easily Izmir.
Also hotel has an amazing view to all Izmir from the 17th floor that was my room.

Izmir can be a jumping off point for other Turkish adventures, as it was for me on a side trip to Kappadokya and Pamukkale. But it's close connection to Turkiye's founding, Ataturk, makes it interesting in its own right. I went to a traveling exhibition of Miro's works here. The Ascansor provides a nice place for a dinner and drink. Shopping on Cypress street, or taking the short harbor ferry to Karsikaya (sp?) are great, as is the bazaar. The Ataturk museum, the train museum across the street from Alsancak Gar, are also pleasant places to view the origins of Turkish history.

There is no so much to see, nothing really special although...
There is no so much to see, nothing really special although people is really nice and friendly. Esmirna ruins are small, the clock tower is OK but it won't change your life, bazaar is nice... Efeso is reachable from the town and train and buses work really well; the best is the people and the weather about the Aegean sea

Horseshoe shaped Izmir City is beautifully located around the bay and surrounded by rolling green hills. I especially enjoyed walking on the harbour promenade and watching the ferry traffic and sunsets from my hotel room with a full view of the bay.

The Old Town Agora and the Hotel - amazing. Izmir is extremely well located to head out early and explore Ephesus.
We should have stayed another day and taken some boat cruises and organised a private guide to showcase the city to us... but we just ran out of time.
