I did not expect it to be a beautiful, clean, safe place to walk around even at night. Despite the language barrier, people are nice and accommodating trying to help you with direction. I noticed that the drivers are very patient and seldom use their horn and gives priority to pedestrian. Parks and trees are everywhere. Food and stay is affordable.

The city is clean, the taxi transport system is efficient and affordable. The City is deliberate on reducing the carbon foot print. Almost all taxis are EVs. The people are very hospitable despite the language barrier. Not many speak English.

When I arrived, I turned on my cell phone and it said, welcome to the Russian Federation. My T-mobile service did not work the entire time I was visiting. I downloaded a google map. I walked at least ten thousand steps every day. I enjoy the waterfalls, the flowers the monuments and the roses. Not too many people speak English here. I experienced diarrhea twice with squat toilets. The best view of the mountains was after it rained. Am I glad I visited? Yes. Check out the parks.

Soro Hotel is a very relaxing place to stay in Dushanbe and enjoy a bit of comfort after completing the Pamir Highway. My room was clean, looked very new and the bed linen smelled really good and fresh, I loved that. Best apartment in Dushanbe and one of the best places we stayed at in Central Asia. Apartment has everything you need and is in a great location. Owner was super helpful and even helped us get a local sim. A real gem! It is in the same building as beland hotel but this place is so much better!
