Perfect place. That's how everyone expects Sweden to be. Wonderful two houses, one for living, kitchen, bath and sauna and one for sleeping. Everything is lovely, quiet and high quality. Surrounded by peaceful and beautiful swedish nature. No neighbors only the lovely hosts in the next building. You can use the spacious garden, the bbq and the sauna. For us this is the perfect place.

All exactly as in the photos. Plain but quite spacious student rooms with good beds. Large well equipped shared kitchen, big fridges. Comfortable lounge/dining room. Scrupulously clean. Door code for the building sent well in advance and instructions very clear. Easy to find. Ample free parking in lot at entrance to campus (no gate)

Location of the hotel is excellent. We did not expect it to be so scenic. Also the hotel staff was too helpful. In fact, there was an Indian at the reception, who came to pick up us at the ferry point also.

So beautiful, very good location and close to the ferry, clean and tidy and smelled very good, and such nice staff who brought me food since I was going to miss breakfast the morning after.
It was quiet and spacious, very luxurious. Will definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others!

A town with less population.
A town with less population. I recommend to stay near lake or within the forest, provided you have your own vehicle to commute. Most of the shops and restaurants are located in the center of the town.

Lonely Planet describes Oskarshamn as (paraphrasing) "...
Lonely Planet describes Oskarshamn as (paraphrasing) "pleasant enough, but not interesting". The main reason to come here us to take a ferry, after all. I got to spend more time here than planned thanks to a last-minute ferry cancellation; while Oskarshamn is not a bad place to be stuck in for a night, it's definitely not something to put on your bucket list.
Notes:
- Restaurant Cecil is decent
- Adels Hotel is very close to the Gotland Ferry terminal and quite cheap; the fact there is very little personnel on-site makes for an odd experience, though.
- Oskarshamn is pretty small and walkable, but somewhat hilly.
