Linkoping is nice, Have been there a couple of times over the years visiting my daughter. This time I stayed at Scandic between trains as the location is excellent - close to the railway station and the city centre.
I would stay there again if I get a cool room. I did stay there again 27 - 28/7 and got a cool room facing the street thanks to Abbe. He was very helpful and interacted very nicely with family with children at check-in.

Linköping's charm lies in its peaceful atmosphere and proximity to nature. However, the long, dark winters can take a toll, and the city's nightlife and cultural offerings may not satisfy those seeking a more vibrant urban experience. While the city is well-connected to other parts of Sweden, public transportation can be limited outside of peak hours.

Lots to do in Linköping, particularly if you are interested in walks or hiking in nature. A charming and well-organized town. Easy to get around on the busses, or just to walk about the town (in Summertime anyway).
