A balcony to chill on as part of our room too. Literally 2 minutes from airport. Be warned, do not try to walk it with suitcases like we did. Up hill all the way. Jill and her daughter were really helpful and very nice people. Jill even gave us a ride to the airport for our early flight. We would recommended touchdown villa to anyone.

If you have a car it's okay tho, there's a big private parking space.

Mahe (1.4 miles from Seychelles International Airport)
Set high above sea level, Villa Kayola - Self Catering is set on Mahe Island, 15 minutes' walk from the beach at Anse aux Pins. Free private parking is available on site. The property is perfectly located for exploring the island, north or south, even though it is not near to the beach- so depending on people's preferences. The view is really nice- it is more comfortable if you have a car since the hills are steep, what could be a walk ends up as a hike otherwise :) Considering the value it has everything you need and more! And even if you are missing something the owners are lovely people so they will surely help you out! 2 friendly small dogs and 2 cats are a nice addition for all the animal lovers! Also great garden with fresh fruits! Sadly there was not enough time to try Jimmy- the owner's dinner, next time! The lady owner Maya is also a great animal lover she is taking care of - feeding the abandoned cats, so we thought it would be nice to help her out with a package or two of cat food since she is such a lovely soul!

We loved the warm, friendly Seychellois welcome on arrival. The island is absolutely stunning, from the wild jungle and huge granite mountains to the pristine beaches and indescribably blue sea. The driving is crazy - the roads are not straight with lots of steep curves and bends, so drive carefully if you hire a car to explore the island, which is highly recommended. There are lots of hidden gems - we ate at Maria's Rock which was a fabulous experience, and we highly recommend eating at the Boat House on Beau Vallon beach and the Green House in Au Cap. Buy freshly caught fish from the fish sellers on the side of the road and cook your own - it is cheap and delicious. Food in general, whether you are eating out or buying from one of the local corner grocery stores, is very pricey, so beware! Visit the Botanical Gardens and grab a delicious pastry and ice cream from the Polish owned bakery just across the road and down from the Botanical Gardens entrance. Definitely visit the Mission Ruins in Venn's Town in the Morne Seychellois National Park, the views are breathtaking. Also visit the beach at Anse Soleil for the best sunsets.
I recommend to carry cash. From the Airport to Anse Boileu taxi will charge you maximum 800 Seychelles Rupees which is around 55USD. There is no taxi service like in most of the countries to catch taxi in the street even in Capital City Victoria. Taxi is on call and 1 trip will cost you min 500 Seychelles Rupees. 100 Seychelles Rupees fee when using ATM. Local bus charges 25 Seychelles Rupees per person. Local shops use card and have mostly all what you need. Road is very narrow and need to be very cautious when driving around. The Seychelles is right side driving country. Water sports quite expensive, for example a Jet ski (1200 Seychelles Rupees 83usd per 30 minutes). Seychelles has lot to offer to visit and explore and view is like in paradise and local community is very friendly.
First of all it's located not far from the airport which is a big advantage taking into account the narrow road. It's a quiet place, we didn't see other people on the beach, we were always swimming alone and having all this paradise place just for ourselves. There are many small food shops aroud within short walking distance. There are nice restaurants nearby, very good food of different kind. Out choice was Greenhouse, we thought it was the best. Walking along the toad is not so comfortable, but you get used to it very quckly.
Cerf island is a small island off the coast of Mahe. It is only for people who love peace and quiet, because there is nothing on the island except for a few small hotels. You can walk along the beach and there is one hiking path to the other side of the island, which is said to be pretty steep. The hotels have boats that take their guests over to Mahe (Eden Island), where there is a shopping mall and several restaurants and an excellent ice cream parlour. In order to go anywhere else from Eden Island you have to take a taxi, because, at least as far as I know, there is no public transport from Eden island.
Marie-Aline, the owner of MARL Self Catering was very helpful and kind. She drove me to the supermarket and Eden Island for free. The apartment was very clean, well decorated and equipped as well as spacious. The location is very quiet, the planes do not make any disturbance. Very close to a bus stop going to Mahé and also a nice little beach only 5 minutes by bus. I highly recommend MARL.
The island is just like paradise, artificially build but perfectly in style with the atmosphere of Seychelles. So quiet and peaceful, but still has everything you may need . The luxurious place on earth . The view over the mountains from the apartment was just wow.
