It’s way better than it looks on pictures, for real.
We had the best time of our lives so far I think. Surrounded by the nature with an incredible staff. They been superstars! Very professional and kind.
The room was extremely clean and spacious, with everything you ever needed. One feedback wouldn’t be enough to describe the vibes of this place, we are just too grateful to had the chance of staying in this slice of paradise. For sure I hope to came back soon.
The food wasn’t bad, I would avoid pasta cause it was tasteless, but for the rest is really not too bad. I would prefer a la carte menu also for the night tho. Breakfast was great, such a lot of choices and super tasty food!

Our days at Palawan SandCastles was great. The bungalows are beautiful and the whole staff is very sweet… this area of the island is very remote and Coron City a one hour drive but if you like it quiet this place is a wonderful choice… it is connected with Tribal Adventures Tours. The privat snorkeling tour we booked with them was not cheap but well organized and we had a wonderful day…

If you're looking for a beautiful tropical island to visit,...
If you're looking for a beautiful tropical island to visit, put this one on your list. It's relatively uncrowded, the people are very pleasant and the vistas are jaw dropping.
If you are a diver, and have an interest in WWII, you will find an incredible 11 Japanese wrecks to dive. I'd recommend Pirate Divers, they are very professional and very conservative when it comes to evaluating risks. They also know the wrecks like their second home.
Coron is a bustling town with good food and pleasant people, but the beauty of the island is the back country. I liked it enough in December that I'm returning in February.
To get around, I'd suggest renting a scooter. If you are new to powered two wheel vehicles stay out of Coron, and pay attention to the roads, there are some surprisingly tight turns. Otherwise, since it is relatively uncrowded you should be fine.

The airport and almost all hotels are located on Busuanga (the neighbour island of Coron). There is hardly anything to see here. Neither nice beaches nor varied landscapes. You have to take boat trips to the neighbouring island of Coron or go diving. Both are great. Coron with its lakes, lagoons, caves and beaches is amazing. The underwater world is more varied than in El Nido, Moalboal or Boracay.

I dont know why everyone goes to crowded Coron island while huge wild beautiful Busuanga is near. Its very big island, better to rent a motorbike to discover it. A lot of things to do, islands, giraffes, diving, beaches.

The damage from the previous typoons is still present. There are numerous bars, I recommend the Pacifico Bar, they have Octoberfest sized mugs to hold the Red Horse Beer. It is 50 Pesos each way from the hotel to town and back. On the island tours, the outhouses are the absolute bare minimum, a toilet, no seat, no tank, no TP, a bucket and a ladle and no sink. Wear grippy water shoes, the stairs are slippery. Go see the Coral Garden, elsewhere all the other fish are <5" and no coral. Unless you go to the the Coral Garden, the crystal kayak is a waste of money. Still I had a great time, the staff did an amazing job, life is an adventure!

We liked Busuanga because it was relatively untouched by tourism. Where we stayed at Ocam Ocam there was a rural village community living along the beach. They were friendly and helpful and there was one restobar on the beach. The beach wasn't busy - had a very relaxed feel. It would have been a drive to the nearest town but we liked being away from it all. The beach at Ocam Ocam was gorgeous, though not for swimming as it had a long shallow reef out to the sea. We didn't see a lot of Busuanga as a whole but it felt equally relaxed and rural away from big towns.

The wow factor was definitely at Twin Lagoons and Kayangan Lake. Loved swimming and snorkelling although coming from Australia, the corals and fish were a bit underwhelming. Plenty of cafes and restaurants in Coron Town. We especially liked the french restaurant Armihan Bistro, Poco Deli (next door to Epic Cafe) and Le Voyage. All catered for Gluten Free meals as well. Tuk Tuks are plentiful and easy to catch. 50 pesos for 2 peoples to take you anywhere within the town boundaries. We also walked to the hilltop lookout Mt Tapayas .. but beware, there's 720 steps to climb to get to the top from the car park!!!
