Frankton is a stones throw from busy Queenstown and very laid back. For travellers like ourselves the amenities around us were very good.
Regarding the apartment, it was compact in a good way. It had a dishwasher, washing machine, dryer comfortable bed and pillows. Great shower and the staff went about their very excellent service invisibly. The exhaust in the bathroom was very efficient as was the air-conditioning. We would highly recommend this accomodation over busy downtown Queenstown

Clean, tidy, beautiful view, comfy bed. 5 minutes walk from the lakefront. Kitchenette was great. Sitting out on the balcony for a morning coffee or sunset beer was amazing.

The experience was perfect from the beginning. Jean-Pierre the owner was there to meet us and took our apartment, explaining everything. Also gave us lots of great information on Queenstown. The apartment was amazing with beautiful furniture, figurines, pictures and lovely touches everywhere. We also had a large heated outdoor Jacuzzi to use which we did multiple times. A wonderful breakfast was prepared each morning by a chef Toni Clarke. Also loved the location - water taxi nearby, easy to get an Uber when we didn't want to drive and glorious views.

There is a lot to do in Queenstown.
There is a lot to do in Queenstown. A new hot pool just opened called Bathe by Aluume. It has a carpark right opposite it at the base of the gondola. Private warm tub in the open air surrounded by trees - very nice. You can have a game of mini-golf right next door. Cookie Time has a 2 for 1 deal every evening, recommend the Earnslaw or catamaran to Walter Peak Station - the buffet is outstanding. Gondola and luge are good and a walk up Queenstown Hill for free. Just walking around the lake at leisure is good. So is a walk in Queenstown Gardens. (Free). And try the dulche de leche icecream at Patagonia. If you want healthy cafe food during the day (they close around 3pm) go to Vudu. Fabulous!

Lovely historic village set amongst glorious scenery. Good shopping, walking tracks, historic buildings, early Chinese settlement, access to nearby wineries, lake and mountain activities.
Lots of tourists - can be a bit crowded in the township.

Queenstown is an amazing town with do much to do.
Queenstown is an amazing town with do much to do. All the restaurants are great but the Mexican - Baja - and Madame Fergs are super yummy. The Earnslaw steam boat is a nice day out. The wine tour to three wineries is great as is the beautiful gardens - good walking spaces. The gondola isa greatly to see the city. You can walk to most places in Queenstown.

Arrowtown is lovely to walk around. Very old and interesting buildings and pretty gardens. It is especially pretty in the autumn with the trees in orange yellow autumn colors.
Interesting shops to look at. Nice Cafe and eating places.

Possibly a bit too 'touristy' for my liking, but I knew that would be the case. There's plenty to do here, and the iSite visitor center is a great place to start if you're unsure (including how to get around on buses if that's what you want to do).
