Nice place to visit and relax. Esp if you from busy place Auckland and want peace of mind ya visit whitianga. Just the right place to leave all your stress and come fresh. Nice natural views and warm ocean swim. Love every bit of it.

Situated 5min from the main town center and beach, it's a perfect location for a peaceful stay. Highly recommended if you want to be close to the amenities but want some peace and quiet. It's more suburban with no motels.

Unfortunately the weather wasn't great for our visit but we still did all the things we wanted to do for our trip. A little disappointing that there weren't more choices for cafes eating out, quite limited.

Whitianga is a lovely town and felt more relaxed than Whangamata but had all the facilities you would need. The coastline around the area is just ridiculously beautiful. Whitianga was a great base to explore from. I would happily go for another visit.

Cooks Beach is a lovely community with all amenities required for short stays of 5 days or less. Some beautiful views and surrounds, lovely beach with calm sea making for safe swimming. Some lovely cafe/bars/restaurants offering good food, wine, coffees etc

Whitianga is a very picturesque place.
Whitianga is a very picturesque place. There’s a beautiful long beach, green countryside and mountains surrounding the area. The town is a decent size with everything you might need. There are many restaurants and cafes to choose from and the real fruit ice cream is superb. The staff member at the information centre is brilliant. A little ferry takes you to another area but beware of the hike to the top of the hill- it gets very challenging! I went on a two hour boat trip which was fabulous.
