Originally from the mount but have lived in a small rural town for the past 5years so I did not like the traffic, roads or crowds of people. With all that aside there was plenty of beaches to explore and ample parking. Bustling night life with lots of options for eating and drinking.
Make sure to take an umbrella or shelter for
the beach and be sure to have it weighed down as the wind can take it away

We were invited to a function at the Boat Club.
We were invited to a function at the Boat Club. It was in an amazing site and held over 100 people easily If the weather had not rained all the time there are some fabulous coastal walks we'd had loved to do. Coffee upstairs by central parking area is very good

Mount Maunganui beach, hot pools and shops kept the girls and wife happy, nearby (Bethlehem) supermarket had all we needed and the Omokoroa walk was great while there was a break in the rain. We all loved RiceRiceBaby restaurant. We coped with the road works and the plethora of varying speed limits with only a couple of pauses to consult Google when we went astray.

We are frequent visitors to Mount Maunganui, though usually day-trippers, and can thoroughly recommend the region, irrespective of the season. Summer is the busiest time of the year when the focus is on the beaches, watersports, outdoor markets and festivals, and of course the vibrant bar and restaurant scene, all within easy walking distance. But other seasons have their bonuses too. Autumn and winter can offer the same activities, but without the crowds, and the weather can be just as good, but without the heat.

Wonderful beachside town, quite spread out but with some amazing eateries. Beach is nice and clean with good facilities. I went with me children and would recommend it for families with kids wanting to dig around in teh sand. I did not go into teh water to cannot comment to that aspect

An amazing village, well appointed, presentable, clean and welcoming. We had a hire car which made life easier. However if you stay at the Top 10 you are in prime location. I would happily live in Omokoroa. We stayed for a wedding booking "Omokoroa Sea View Apartment" which I highly recommend. The wedding was a beach ceremony and reception at Alma Eatery. Our entire stay was amazing including all hospitality, we dined at: The Coffee Club, Alma Eatery, The Rising Tide, Village Green, House of Spice and Omokoroa Boat Club.

Plenty to choose from - all within walking distance.
Prices reasonable.
The majority are pet friendly who permit the use of the outside area at the front of their premises.
