It was an outstanding experience to stay with housewithnonails. The house itself is a true miracle, and Jen's hospitality is the top of all.
Her recommendation to visit the Opal hot spring just lifted the level of our journey.

We had a fabulous stay. The pod, as my husband said, had everything we needed, and nothing we didn't.
We were warmly welcomed and felt very comfortable in the accommodation and in the garden area. The bird song in the morning was incredible to wake up to.
It was all spotlessly clean and tidy with lovely touches, and as described on booking.com
It was also a good base for visiting Hobbiton and the surrounding area.
We would thoroughly recommend

Remote cottage little ‘farm stay’, gorgeous views, great location, friendly hosts and a border collie to pat! Quiet location close to town and tours around. Gorgeous lush countryside with lots of cows. Heavenly place.

Our daughter, her partner and their five boys stayed a night at the Red Shed while down from Auckland for a party. They loved the spacious room, the comfortable beds and couches, the pool table, TV and games. Dad enjoyed the seeded bread. They enjoyed feeding the alpacas with host Maria, who was lovely in her communication with me and the family.

This house was wonderfully built by the owner in a unique timber style and is very comfortable for a total of 10 guests.
The interior and exterior are arranged to gather all the guests on the several tables put at their disposal.
The garden is heaven and properly maintained.
It’s quiet and relaxing.
We highly recommend this house

The main point of our trip was to visit Hobbiton Movie Set. This is an amazing experience, our second trip. Have done both the lunch & dinner experience. Food, staff & experience rate a 10.
Had a great meal at Sofra, food & staff were great.
Breakfast at The Rich Coffee Cafe was nice and the staff were ok.
Visited the I-Centre too and found the staff to be helpful.

Morrinsville is a small country town, close to Hamilton. It's easy to get around. I visited redoubt bar restaurant which was great and Loxies is a nice cafe. I heard there are mineral hot pools in Te Aroha close by which are amazing but didn't get to visit them as we were only there for a short time attending a wedding. Rosebrook Wedding Venue was lovely.

Matamata is a nice little town with the usual array of shops and some good eating places. Of course its access to Hobbiton, which was the purpose of our trip, but enjoyed a pleasant evening eating fish n chips in the wooded, shaded park area by the Isite.
