I stayed at this airport hotel because it was the most economical hotel in the class I wanted in Christchurch. I would have preferred closer to town, but this worked out fine since there was a bus stop right outside the door, with frequent routes to the city center for only NZ $2.10. (I heard that NZ halved all public transportation prices because of Covid, then extended them because of Cyclone Gabriel.). So it took anywhere between 15 and 35 minutes to/from the city. Very easy.
My room is as quiet, clean and the bed was comfortable. Had the usual tea kettle, coffee pot and refrigerator. There is a strip mall with a grocery store, so I bought breakfast food there, since the hotel breakfast was too pricey for me at $35, and there was a good coffee shop there too with breakfast food. Ate at an Indian restaurant at that mall which was awful. The Mexican restaurant was good. Would highly recommend this option of staying at a nice hotel at the airport not only because it’s affordable, but because I didn’t have to lug my luggage into the city.

Very close to Christchurch airport, clean and comfy room, parking. The staff were super nice and there is a good restaurant on site. We had dinner there - very good salmon, great lamb and yummy lemon tart.

The unit was amazing. Comfy bed and everything we needed for our two night stay, incl. coffee, tea, hot chocolate and cold milk for the coffee. We arrived after reception hours and self check in was very easy. The owners of the hotel was so helpful with everything and even drove us to the place where we would pick up our campervan. will definitely recommend this place to everyone.

Christchurch International Airport (CHC) Information
Location and Transport
Christchurch International Airport is just over 7 miles (12 kilometres) from the city. Standard taxi fares range between NZD 45–65 and will get you to the city centre in about 20 minutes. The Purple Line and number 29 Metro Red buses run every half hour from about 06:00 until 23:00 (with fewer services on Sunday).
Nearby Hotels and Airport Facilities
There’s one hotel within the airport and a couple more located very close by. There are few more options in the nearby suburbs of Avonhead and Bishopdale, with many offering a shuttle service. Apart from shops and restaurants, there’s free WiFi in the airport, as well as the jam-packed TimeZone entertainment area with plenty of games and activities for kids.
Terminal Information
There’s just one terminal but it’s split into domestic and international. The airport is open 24 hours a day but it’s good to note that the domestic hall closes at 23:00.

We always love our trips to Christchurch, regularly going to watch cricket at Hagley Oval - a special and unique cricket pitch. But the City has many other options; for arts and culture as well as sport, and a diverse selection of places to eat. I've visited many times and have never been disappointed in terms of what's on offer.

Ohoka is a small place with friendly folk and the area in which I stayed. It's peaceful countryside with the occasional hawk or falcon to watch. Local produce and craft are both good. It's a nice peaceful place.

I really like kaiapoi and I would like to stay there but...
I really like kaiapoi and I would like to stay there but would definitely stay in another motel I found everyone friendly and found some good Cafés at night I were at the speedway at Woodfordglen that was the reason I stayed in kaiapoi because it was close to the speedway track.

On our way back home to Queenstown, my husband was so tired...
On our way back home to Queenstown, my husband was so tired so we decided to do a last minute booking, was only one room left and we were lucky to get it. The property manager was so kind and very helpful, room was great all we needed a great bed and easy location to drive out. Just what we needed, definitely will return and i would telll a freind and freinds. Thank you Guys.

Ate on New Regent Street at a little Thai, amazing food.
Enjoyed the heritage tram, Botanical Gardens and Art Gallery.
Got last minute tickets to the Theatre.

The district is easy to travel in, with several villages offering shopping, food and drink plus a petrol Station. Some great cafes and small restaurants in each village. It is a district close to Christchurch and is a great option for a country stay.

This is a great location for somewhere to stay if leaving Christchurch in the morning or if having arrived in Christchurch in the evening, but not wanting to stay in the city itself. It's about 15km out. Not a lot of eating choices in town - I couldn't eat at the only hotel because every table was in use and/or reserved (on a Wednesday evening) so had to go to the little strip of various takeaway places opposite, where there was plenty of choice
