I back up all the positive reviews on Urban Farm Haus. Had a delicious home cooked meal with all the guests and the hosts, perfect atmosphere and had a really nice sleep. Best wifi I've had in Namibia.

Situated on the outskirts of Rundu, Tambuti lodge offers accommodation overlooking the Cubango River. The lodge features an outdoor swimming pool and secure on-site parking.

I was most impressed by the attentiveness of the staff. Early morning, I enquired about advice on how to make a brief visit to the Angolan side of the border - and was accompanied by a member of staff who showed me around in Calai, the sister town of Rundu in Angola. for more than two hours. I have never experienced such service. (Note that Angola has in early 2024 allowed 90 more passports visa-free entry.). Otherwise, the setting is extremely pleasant. Stayed in two family rooms, which were spacious with a nice style.

Reception was welcoming, facilities in room such as beds, bedding, air con and wifi reception were excellent. Meals service in restaurant was quick with tasty, generous portions. Management was present and accommodating.

The Rundu area is not for sensitive people as the local...
The Rundu area is not for sensitive people as the local population is very cruel towards animals. Donkeys’ feet are bound so tight that the animals cannot walk at all and many are bleeding. The cruelty towards dogs is unimaginable and we saw dogs being beaten savagely. The area is very dirty with rubbish everywhere. Generally a very unpleasant area that will not see us again.
Stark contrast compared to the rest of Namibia that is clean and beautiful with kind and hospitable people and well kept animals.

Rundu is a busy crossroads of travelers.
Rundu is a busy crossroads of travelers. Unfortunately due to corruption and mismanagement the town is rough shape and some roads in bad shape.
You can find nearly everything you may need in Rundu.
