A beautiful town if you want to put your walking shoes on.
A beautiful town if you want to put your walking shoes on. The hill walk is wonderful. The food was just OK. Nothing special. I was expecting more. Lake gardens were beautiful. Zoo too, but our hotel Novotel, just ok. Nothing special. Lots to improve there.

We enjoyed our stay in Kampung Sepetang.
We enjoyed our stay in Kampung Sepetang. People are friendly. Seafood is very fresh. We loved the river cruise which offered us a chance to witness a beautiful sunset, the exciting experience of eagle-feeding and the enchanting glows of swarms of fireflies.

This Raintown is my Hometown, so there is nothing negative about it !! Only praises for any travellers to this quiet historic town with all its green clean surrounds and Lake Gardens. Its local people are friendly and all can communicate in English, Chinese, Malay or Indian.

Historical town with old buildings are well maintained.
Historical town with old buildings are well maintained. Sri Annapurna, Anna and Semmoli restaurants served good food. Many Indian florists along Jalan Pasar. It is easy to get around by Grab and the fees are reasonable. Taiping Lake Gardens is a sight to behold with old big trees. One can enjoy the lake and a slow walk is relaxing.
