The apartment was really sweet and equipped with everything you needed - the coffee machine was a bonus as was having a tv with Netflix as it was raining in the evenings when we stayed. The intimate terraces were lovely spaces in which to relax.

There's a pool like shown on the photos. Sunday buffet was reasonably priced at 195 pesos including drinks and all. Hot water and AC worked. Close to OXXO or Soriana

We loved our stay at Casa Coral! Fabulous big room with good air conditioning, a large kitchen and nice bathroom. The pool was super nice after days out exploring and we were really grateful for the free tanks of drinking water provided. It’s about a 10-15min walk into the centre, but we liked the walk and found great restaurants (plus the supermarket) very close to the property. Highly recommend staying here!

It was a very spacious room and the owner was very welcoming. There was air conditioning and good wifi.
Unfortunately the kitchen is very ill-equipped. There is nothing to cook on, no cooking utensils or chopping boards, and no cups. It’s really just a fridge/freezer, rusty cutlery, a blender, and plates.
The location is also quite far from the centre, it would be hard to access without a car, scooter, or use of taxi.

I recently stayed at Casa Gacela Cozumel with two other guests and absolutely loved it! Our hosts were amazing and available to help us with whatever we needed when needed through the entire duration of our stay. The kitchen was stocked with many items to cook and eat with and has everything needed. Beds and other furniture were very comfortable, a nice private balcony, all this with reliable fast wifi and AC included! The property is modern, kept meticulously neat and tidy, well located near a large indoor market, downtown, and the airport amongst many others. Even after many years visiting Cozumel, we managed to find 3 new restaurants a couple blocks away from this place, having our best meat and shrimp tacos so far, and with an unbelievable oven pizza! Surely there's more to discover, so we are planning to use this place again and highly recommend it!

The island is also visited by many big cruise ships and that changes the intimate feel of some locations when those ships are inn.

Playa del Carmen is lively and full of energy, but the city beach can get crowded, and some areas aren’t always clean due to dogs and their activities. I would suggest staying in Playacar or nearby for a cleaner, more private beach while still being close to the city.

I have been visiting Cozumel for 15 years, for diving. While the people are friendly and the number of good restaurants has increased over that time, unfortunately the reef has been degraded effecting the diving experience. Its is my contention the powers that control Cozumel care more about making money from cruise ships than the environment, local people or infrastructure of Cozumel.

Beaches aren't great, to be honest. They look cool from the outside. The main beaches are full (1-10 December).
The one by the resort had some big rocks and wasn't very good for kids. The water looks very nice, though.

I enjoyed the natural beauty of the areas outside the touristy downtown area. I rented a scooter and drove the entire perimeter of the island (about 2 hours around without stops), but there are a few sightseeing locations, so plan a bit more time. I was there to go scuba diving and it did not disappoint. Once you get out of the touristy areas Cozumel is basically a rundown Caribbean island with not much to offer.

My trip was all work related for 5-days. the hotel excelled as a base. The town/city of Playa del Carmen as I was taken to my various appointments, would not be my choice for a holiday - too noisy for me, but would be good for others.
