I have been traveling together with my girlfriend to the Maldives and we really didn't know how it's going to be on a local island. Shahid (host) is a person that sets value on good communication beforehand as well as on the trip itself. Before we came there, we chatted via WhatsApp about everything important (flights, diving license, prices etc.). That helped a lot because we felt informed all the way through. I wanted to dive, but my girlfriend cannot. So, she could stay on the boat, could do some snorkeling while I was diving. Shahid managed everything and paid much attention on us feeling good. We could ask him anything at any time. The stay at La Cabana was way better than expected because of the very personal contact to the super-friendly staff. All in all, the staff works in a very professional way, is reliable, open-minded, funny and makes you think of cancelling your flight back. :) We definitely would recommend staying at La Cabana. If you are looking for a family-like guesthouse offering many awesome diving and snorkeling trips, you should book here.

Very lovely place with a small garden where one can sit and enjoy a coffee. Coffee machine and coffee can be used anytime.The owner is a very very friendly outgoing person, who is there for his guests. Anything his guests need they can ask him for. We went on amazing tours with him and his stuff. They did everything to make us see the stunning sea life around Maamagili island. He and his stuff met all my expectations.

The location of the hotel is fantastic. It is close to the beach, hospital, pharmacy, and market. The rooms are very clean, and regular cleaning is done at set intervals. There are free massage chairs. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and sincere. The manager, Mr. Rifhat, is a person loved by both customers and locals. I would like to thank Koimala Hotel for offering us an unforgettable experience for six days. The staff at Koimala Hotel are well aware that guests come to the hotel to relax and rejuvenate. They provide their services accordingly. During our stay at Koimala Hotel, we are especially grateful to Kanchan, who carefully, politely, and cheerfully took all of our orders, to Shakil and Subbar, who promptly solved any issues we had, to the chefs in the kitchen, to Rippon and Subbe for assisting with tours, and especially to manager Mr. Rifhat, who helped us in every way from the moment we arrived until the last minute. I highly recommend Koimala Hotel to anyone looking for some quiet and a bit of renewal.

An oasis in Maamigili, from the moment we arrived until the moment we left we were made to feel like a VIP guests. The experience was wonderful. Rai Bob and Rafi ensure you want for nothing during your stay at Villa residences We were greeted at the ferry terminal and taken to our accommodation where we received a welcome drink and cold towels to freshen up with.. Rai introduced the island to us, explained the different excursions that they could offer and arrange for us and send us a great deal of information via WhatsApp so that we could read and digest at our leisure. The reception area and the courtyard which really double as the dining area and social area is immaculate. Well maintained in terms of the foliage, we understand that there was a lot of mosquitoes last year and having spoken to returning guests we know that the number is now significantly reduced. What was nice though is the fact that there is anti-mosquito spray on all tables and provided in all rooms, an indication that they’re thinking about the guests and their needs. The mosquitoes were not a problem during our stay. After a welcome we were shown to our room which was nicely chilled. Thanks to the very efficient air conditioning unit. The bed was decorated with petals, which was a lovely touch. The room was spacious well fitted out clean and smelt fresh. The room has a really comfortable double, with white cotton sheets and, always a bonus, two pillows per person! Our room had a ‘ welcome’ fruit bowl, complimentary tea and coffee making facilities fresh and bottled chilled water was provided each day. The room was serviced to a high standard every daily. We enjoyed watching the television in our room as well as listening to the music on the television in reception area and the reels of marine life that were sometimes playing, very relaxing. After we checked in, we were taken on a complimentary island tour which helped us to orientate ourselves to the island.

The Island Very highly recommended for a peaceful and authentic experience on the small island of Dhidhdhoo, South Ari Atoll (pron. DeeDoo). With a population of only 213, there are all facilities one could need including a small hospital, pharmacy, grocery and souvenir shops and even a new playground. The island is also immaculately maintained with all trails through the jungle swept regularly. Hotel This is a small, newly built guesthouse which is in excellent condition and immaculately clean. The rooms have very comfortable beds with ensuite bathrooms and a porch opening directly onto the beach. A charming communal eating area even has a free soft drinks fridge which is a nice touch. The excellent chef, Haroon, prepares breakfast, lunch and dinner (all included in the price) and is most friendly and helpful. Scuba Diving Do not have any concerns about the quality and professionalism of the dive centre even though this is a remote island. The diving school has only been open for a year so all the equipment is almost brand new and of very high quality. The dive instructor, Midhoo, is possibly the best I have ever dived with and has 30 years' experience in running dive centres across the Maldives. He improved my skills considerably over just a couple of days. As this is a small location, I was the only diver and we managed to see grey and whitetip reef sharks, turtles, rays, fabulous corals and and abundance of fish. The drift dives were a particular highlight and I felt completely safe during these trips. I could not have wished for more from the boat Captain Yoosuf and special thanks to the dive assistant, Mohamed for his attention to my safety and good humour. If you want a truely peaceful escape with no crowds, beautiful deserted beaches and a top quality diving experience, this is hard to beat, and for 3 dives per day including all equipment hire, a genuine bargain.

You need maximum 3 days to complete all trips, any more than...

You need maximum 3 days to complete all trips, any more than that would have to be someone who loves water sports as these are the main activities in this country, anyways. Bring a mosquito or any insect repellent, you will need these after a stroll on the shores or anywhere there are plants. Also have an anti-nausea pill if you are the seasick type. Taxis have a fixed price for each location, check that out. Alcohol in the resorts is expensive but then again that's all you got. Best to pay all meals or include dinner in your package as there are almost no restaurants outside, depending on the island, and if you find one it's either a chips or coffee spots.

It was not my first time in Maldives and my experience there...

It was not my first time in Maldives and my experience there was disappointing compared to my previous trips in other resorts. The quality of service is poor and it’s a shame because the resort is lovely and the staff are nice but lack professionalism.

The sand bank and bikini beach were beautiful. Nice that US dollars are accepted but annoying that the $ needs to be pristine. Request speed boat for whale shark excursion. Nice variety of restaurants.

Superb new facility and well connected atoll with great...

Superb new facility and well connected atoll with great diving spots close by, the diving crew is well experienced and friendly, and they conduct PADI certification courses as well. All inclusive includes free kayaking for one hour every day (depending on sea conditions), free SUP for one hour every day (depending on sea conditions) and free rental of snorkeling gear for the entire duration of stay. There were several other water sport options like jet sky, dive tours, night snorkeling as well. The active coral reef need a bit of a boat ride to reach but they are filled with fishes. The whale shark viewing was amazing!!

My favorite places were snorkeling from the pier of the Italian restaurant, and the water villas we stayed in (also good for snorkelling, but the water is very shallow). We had half-board, and were so happy with the breakfast and dinner buffets that we never opted for anything extra. Getting around in Maamigli on foot was easy for us, but I understand we could have requested golf cart transportation as well. We preferred walking. I was a little concerned beforehand whether we'd be spending a fortune on drinking water (since we didn't have all-inclusive), but drinking water was provided daily by the housekeeping, so no problem at all. Next time I'll make an even bigger effort to avoid getting sunburned. We used 50 SPF sunblock and re-applied often, but lengthy snorkeling still got some of our backs.

Awesome place.

Awesome place. Everything and everyone was perfect until departure. We stopped by reception twice to inquire about our sea plane departure the following day. We were assured we would receive ample notification. At 4:50am in a deep sleep, we were awaken by a room call notifying us that pick up was in 10 minutes. No time to bathe or pack properly to head into our 19 hour travel journey but yet we had to wait over an hour in reception. Not happy.

The most beautiful sea I have ever seen in my entire life.

The most beautiful sea I have ever seen in my entire life. And mind you, I have visited many seas in many countries! For food, I recommend the restaurant at the Dhiguveli hotel and the Teapot restaurant. Getting around the island is very easy; you can reach any place quickly on foot. Don't miss going to the sandbank at one of the ends of the island.

The snorkelling is breath-taking and the island is beautiful. Lovely rooms and great choice of food. Staff were super friendly and helpful and all times. Excursions could be more inviting - perhaps at least one complimentary boat activity of some sort during the stay and PLEASE stop the fish-feeding.

We stayed 5 nights there 3 nights at water villa 113 and 2 nights at beach villa 209 and it was the mind blowing experience, I really have no words to explain from staff to facilities to manners to every single detail was more than perfect specially I would like to salute the GM general manager Gavin sanders he is a gem of a person I never saw a gm taking care of guests personally like this and specially I would like to mention the jeevan at morning n dinner buffet and kk at marhab bar cocktailswithkk, and arsham at reception and rani , salute to all of them

Dhigurah is a beautiful island with a long sandy beach,...

Dhigurah is a beautiful island with a long sandy beach, without sunbeds and umbrellas, the palm trees lining the island will provide you with sufficient shade. At the end of the island there is a sandbank, which can be reached by walking, cycling or scooter through the tropical forest. There are several shops with groceries, souvenirs and restaurants on the island. There is a lot of accommodation in different places on the island with quality services. The local people are smiling and friendly. There is a hospital, a police station, the Maldivian office and mosques on the island. Waste from the island is taken to the forest, where it is burned in the afternoon, we only felt the smoke from the waste when there was a strong wind. You can get to the island from the airport by speedboat, the journey takes about two hours, if you suffer from nausea, I recommend taking anti-nausea medicine, you will definitely need it when the waves are bigger. There is a coral reef around the island, you can see many colorful fish, we were lucky to see a turtle and a small shark. There are resorts on the surrounding atolls, to which seaplanes fly daily. What we didn't like on the island is the massive construction of new accommodation facilities, I'm afraid that in a short time, there will be more tourists on the island than locals and the island will lose its authenticity and beauty.
