The Breakfast was cooked by Jam the owner an Meow her friend and assistant, nothing was too much trouble, what ever type of food you asked for Jam tried her best to provide it was always freshly cooked in front of you eyes, The Hotel wasn't over crowded and the pool was a lovely size and was lovely and clean as was the room, there was a supermarket at the end of the road and a lovely promenade to walk into town by the stunning Mekong River. also plenty of opportunity for excursions. Also John was there to have a friendly chat over a cool beer.

Lovely hotel with a nice swimming pool in a beautiful small garden. Definitely the best value for money on this trip. Really quiet, tucked away from the main road. Most people stay one night to cross the border. We stayed two nights to do a quiet day, that is recommended.

We stayed in a Double Room with private bathroom which was clean and provided everything you need.
Sustainable operation - cotton towels to dry hands, free drinking water to refill your bottle.
Fair prices for accommodation, breakfast and transport services.
Super friendly owner and staff. The owner even brought our postcards to the post office as it's been closed during our stay.
Right next to Gibbon Experience office.
Nice roof top terrace overlooking the Mekong.
ATM opposite the hostel.

Nothing bad to say. Perfect stay for one or two nights. Basic but CLEAN! I was extremely comfortable in the care of the most lovely host Ms. Amor. She will look after you like family and give the best advice for onward transportation, exchange rates, food, coffee, sim cards.
AC was actually cold and amazing to escape the heat and humidity. Towels, body wash, filtered water.
As a solo female traveller, most important, I felt very safe.
Thank you Amor!

Hostess and family anticipated all needs. Yummy packed lunch, and booked me back to Luang Prabang - driver, shuttle then train, and it worked like clockwork. My room...
Big room, big bed and with own private bathroom. Opening window, good ventilation and air con.

If your used to the Hilton its not for you.
If your used to the Hilton its not for you. If you are ok with clean and close to local environment, it's good. Its not fancy. Its clean. The concierge is attentive. And there are nice local walks. And a cement walkway just down the the same street the hotel is on. That goes along the river. No one was on it. I really enjoyed it.
I stayed 2 nights. I put the do not disturb sign on my door. No one bothered my room.
The locals smiled. And were friendly. Its a small street town. Not a tourist corporate town. A local vendor town.
If your looking for hustle and bustle its not here.
The Cafe next door did have activity until around 8pm.
The Hotel was not far from the friendship bridge. And Tuk Tuks were available apon arrival and took me straight to the hotel. They knew where it was.
There was several Tuk Tuks waiting every morning to take you back to the Thai immigration port. 200 baht.

We really enjoyed walking up to the fort built in 1900.
We really enjoyed walking up to the fort built in 1900. The coffee, view of the town and Mekong river were excellent. The food at the various restaurants was very tasty. We met some locals; who took us to the morning market.

A great city to do a border run, particularly if you stay at Fortune Riverview Hotel Chiang Khong - which seems to be the nicest accommodation in the area. We enjoyed our stay here quite a bit and would return.

Very pleased we decided to stay here rather than going onto Chiang Rai after a second long day on the slow boat. One-horse town but with several good little restaurants all within a couple of minutes walk from where we stayed. Staying here also meant that crossing the border the following morning was very easy as noone was around.

Chiang Khong, a lovely little town next to the river.
Chiang Khong, a lovely little town next to the river. Views are amazing and the food is good. It is not very big so staying for an extended time may be dull for some. Great for relaxing and quiet. Excellent for walking and/or riding bicycles.
