I never got to meet our host at this property. Everything was done via WhatsApp and money transfer. He gave us the access code to the main entrance and unit via online chat and our payment was via kaspi 5 mins away. The property has a lot of blankets. Great for sleeping on the floor.
Only problem we had was using the ancient elevator, it requires 10 kzt plus the bathroom needs a rug or shower curtain. It can get dangerously wet or slippery.

Most of the receptionists were very helpful.Good that hotel was located across from a restaurant.

This is a very new hotel and has been well built with good quality fitout. The room was large and airy and looked over trees and a park. The staff were very helpful and attentive and communicated by Whatsapp when needed. The breakfast was good, but dont expect fancy. The hotel was right next The Loft, an exceptional restaurant, and a very new bank with ATMs. You could walk to the riverfront nearby.

For those who are interested in literature, the city should...
For those who are interested in literature, the city should offer some value. It has museums dedicated to both Dostoevsky and Abai. They both lived there for a while. There is some Soviet heritage, but it is getting harder and harder to find them. The anatomical museum is currently undergoing renovations, and the alley of Lenins is no more, presumably as they too are under renovations. The big statue of Lenin still stands though, which is a nice little addition to say the least. Food situation is a bit dire, for those who do not eat meat, but you will not starve.
