Very nice not too large hotel located at a beautiful beach. Situated on beautiful Irabu island it is set in a somewhat remote and quiet area, with a beautiful almost undisturbed sky at night. Miyakojima proper is about 20 minutes by car. However, Irabu‘s beaches are as beautiful as those of the main island, and the snorkeling is maybe even better.
The hotel features a rooftop pool with great views. Breakfast buffet is Japanese style with some western options as well. Everything was very tasty.
I can’t confirm earlier complaints from other reviews about the English level of the staff. Of course they are not native speakers (this is Japan, not Hawaii, after all), but communication was always easily possible.
I can only recommend this hotel.

Best of all, the manager, was extremely helpful and obliging went out of his way to assist despite the language barrier. Self contained room was very comfortable. Air con, hot water and washing facilities good. Address in quite area.

The room was huge yet old.
The dinner was outstanding, fresh catch of the day advertised and always making a superb choice.
The hotel has the rustic and not unpleasant charme of an old style bed&breakfast pension or dormitory charme, with rusty stairs to rusty old fashioned large bedrooms with rusty old keys.

As we just happened to be there when a small typhoon hit, we had rain for 5 days out of the 8 days we were there c we still have enough indoor activities to do, and find an amazing snorkelling beach called Nakanoshima beach in Irabu Island which is linked to the main Miyakojima island by a very long and beautiful beach.

Very nice new house close to one of the most beautiful beaches in Okinawa. The host family is very friendly, and I was happy to share the time and space with them. The room is big and the facility is clean. It was just that the house is a bit far away from the center and I did not rent a car, so it was not too simple to move around, but the host was helpful in arranging the visits for me.

Compared to Okinawa's main island which depending where you go could still feel a bit crowded, Miyako is the perfect Okinawa retreat and a unique experience.
The various beaches won't deceive with emerald waters!
There are also many diving spots to explore sea life.

It left me speechless, fortunately it is still an unspoiled island that unlike Japan they should keep it a little cleaner because it deserves. You can turn it all around in the car and you can see places where there is no one. It was a really nice discovery, we would have been there for another 2/3 more days. It is connected with bridges to 3 smaller islands all to be discovered. I recommend activities such as snorkeling, dive and sup to see the splendid seabed with colorful fish, opulps, manta rays and sharks.
