Absolutely magical place, hidden in a mountain valley, surrounded by lush forest.
The rooms look directly onto the river and are very generously spaced.
Sadly we were only there for one night. Big mistake, it feels like you could spend an eternity there.

We stayed in the new expansion building with private onsen on the balcony. The room was clean, cozy and new. Private onsen with the mountain view was such a treat. It’s in a nice and quiet location. The owner was very kind and friendly. He made sure we were safe and had everything we needed when the worst storm hit Kirishima. Highly recommend this place if you are visiting the area or looking for a relaxing base for visiting the national park and Kagoshima.

- SO. NICE. to have an onsen in your room! At such an affordable price too. The size wasn't bad either, with room to stretch out your legs. You can also adjust the temperature by adding cold water, which is a nice touch for people who prefer less scalding baths.
- The bed and pillow were so comfortable. Everyone slept great, it was absolute heaven. I liked both so much that I asked for the hotel for the company and name of each products.
- In every interaction the staff were very kind and accommodating. I will say that the Walkie Talkie left out for calling the front desk after normal hours didn't seem to work, but I was able to flag someone down anyways so not too big of a deal.
- When we stayed, you got a discount coupon for drinks by adding the hotel on LINE. My friends and I were able to use an annex building to relax, drink, and play card games since there is no space in the rooms themselves.
- Location isn't too bad either. We went to Kirishima Jingu the next day, which is only about 20 minutes by car.
- Breakfast buffet was decent, not great though.
- Overall, I would love to stay here again. I would just make sure to bring less luggage, maybe my own breakfast, and leave as much time as possible to relax in the room/onsen!

The host of bosses house still tops them all with her humorous, energetic personality, making you feel truely welcome and at home.
Room, bed, and facilities have everything you need to fulfill your expectations.
Whenever I will be around in the future, I will definetly come again!

I love Kirishima and highly recommend you visit! This house was beautiful, clean and with excellent facilities. The private onsen was superb. Great location if travelling with car.

Beautiful Traditional Japanese Inn right next to the flowing Mauro Falls. The PRIVATE onsen overlooks the river. It is stunning. The staff were so welcoming and ensured you had the best possible stay.
When we went to Kirishima Shrine we mentioned we liked walking trails and they suggested we walk Kirishima Gorge. It was sensational and the highlight of Kirishima as it was stunning.
The staff will drop you off at the Bus stop anytime you like. It is walking distance into town for the markets.
The evening traditional meal was incredible about 20 different items , KAISEKI
It was actually a little sad to leave as the Staff made our stay there very special.
It is the BEST and only place to stay in Kirishima.
When I was deciding where to book a lot of reviews said their accomodation was tired and old. It was traditional, so clean and beautiful.

Standard APA accomodations, but we had a stinky smoking room which was tiny tiny tiny for two people and one tiny bed :/
I think APA does that: they book two people into a "double" then upsell you at the front desk to a bigger room.
They did that to us in Ryugoku Tokyo property also...

If you like nature, you must like Kirishima, which is beautiful and peaceful. When you climb up to the volcano, you will be amazed at the magic of nature. The local people can’t communicate with English but very patient and nice.

We stayed in the double room with volcano view. Location is amazing; it is just directly opposite the drop off and pick up for the Kagoshima Airport Bus. Facilities are very new looking and comfortable. Smart huge TV in the room; ReFa hair curler/ hair iron/ hair dryer available; even a gadget in the wardrobe to press the wrinkles off your trousers. Very amazing stuff. The room is pretty spacious after you shove the armchairs aside to make space.
