Although the hotel is located just outside the Bologna airport, the ambient around it is quite pleasant, hotel is surrounded by trees and greenery. Hotel has quite spacious parking, so if you are traveling by car and you want a safe place to leave your vehicle while exploring the city, this is a perfect place to do so.
Rooms are well equipped, clean and cosy.
Breakfast is amazing and it exceeds by far the standard Italian breakfast offer.
All in all, this is a great value for money deal.

The host was extremely helpful, even meeting us at the bus stop where we got off to show us to the apartment.
The apartment was perfectly located by a bus stop which could take us to the centre of Bologna in 15 minutes or the airport in 5 minutes. There was a great local restaurant and a groceries store within a 5 minute walk.
The apartment was well equipped with everything you would need, including a great coffee machine, very comfortable beds and air conditioning to mention just a few things we especially appreciated.
Once again the host was amazing even letting us leave our luggage in the apartment after the checkout time so we could collect it on our way back to the airport.

The host is absolutely incredible, always available to help with everything throughout our stay. Apartment is super clean, well arranged and has all the amenities. Great location for those flying out or arriving late - 5 min by bus from the airport.

Angelica was waiting for our taxi to arrive, she helped carry our heavy luggage upstairs, showed us around, made us a coffee. She also spent 30 minutes on the phone to order a taxi on departure. Carried our bags down, made sure the driver dropped us exactly where we wanted to go. Aldi supermarket 5 minute walk away. Quiet location, comfortable beds.

It's a rather remote, quiet town. Nothing to draw one to except quiet and near the Bologna airport.
I ended up choosing to heat up a packaged curry/rice meal from the supermarket, as the only other choice (since I didm't have a car) was a pizzeria.

Bologna is a large and lively city with plenty to see and do. There’s no shortage of great food options for gastronomy lovers, interesting sights, and excellent shopping. The city feels reasonably clean and well-kept, and while the architecture is nice, it doesn’t stand out compared to other Italian destinations.
The biggest downsides are the traffic and public transport. Traffic jams are frequent and can be frustrating, and the bus system is unreliable, with routes that run late or seem to follow no clear schedule.
Overall, Bologna offers a solid experience with good food and lots of activity, but some practical aspects can make getting around a challenge.

From the accommodation we got a tip about the restaurant Ristorante Pizzeria "Itaca" in Calderara di Reno - excellent 👍 (10min. by a car)
Visit Bologna:
Bologna is a very busy town with narrow streets. I strongly do not recommend going into the historic centre by a car. Use the underground garages on the outskirts of the historic centre - e.g. on Via Riva di Reno and then walk

I used Bologna a base to explore a bit of the northeastern section of Italy and it was perfect. The city itself has a lot to offer for people who enjoy museums and history, and it's super easy to get to other major cities by train. Plus it easily has the best gelato (in my limited experience).
