The best part of the stay was definitely the staff, Monica to be more precise. She made us feel so welcome.
The sheets were clean and smelled well, warm water, beautiful sea views and goof air conditioning and the breakfast was great. We wanted to rent a bike and the staff in 20 min arranged us a great bike and also a driver to bring us to the airport.
Thank you again Monica and the other girls for our amazing stay.

We had the best time at Oro Beach house. The owner and the staff are welcoming & friendly and made our stay very special. The location is perfect- right next a beautiful beach. You can rent snorkel equipment and explore the reef. We would definitely come back here!

Maringi Sumba is more than just a beautiful eco-resort — it’s a place where your holiday directly supports local youth through the Sumba Hospitality Foundation. The staff, many of whom are students, were warm, professional, and truly inspiring.
Our room was thoughtfully designed using sustainable materials, offering the perfect balance of comfort and simplicity. The gardens were serene, the food was fresh and locally sourced, and we loved their signature non-alcoholic Sumba Beer!
What made the stay truly special was learning how the foundation empowers the local community. It added such depth and meaning to our visit.
Highly recommended for anyone who values authentic travel experiences and wants to make a positive impact while enjoying a peaceful island retreat.

This was a nice stay - interesting museum - organise a tour and donate as it’s not always open and I think it’s a private collection???
It’s very quiet and far from town so a scooter is recommended
There is also a great cashew farm up the road within walking distance that has great coffee and delicious cashew milk which we enjoyed hot and cold (try both!)
