The house is much nicer than the pictures in booking.com site. There is 5 minutes walk up the hill to reach the house, but even in the middles of the summer, the location is worth it. The view is great and the house is well organized with great attention to details. All the rights elements are in place for enjoying the house, and hanging out in the terrace, balcony or the garden is definitely recommended

It's hard to summarise just how pleasant this property is. It is very tastefully decorated, with high-quality furnishing and appliances, and plenty of room for a very comfortable stay. The location is excellent, only a few steps from Megisti's busy waterfront, and with the upper-floor balcony providing great views of the port (and of the occasional goat crossing the alley in the back). Our host, Ari, was very efficient and friendly in her communication, as well as very accommodating. We stayed in Kastellorizo for one night, as a side trip from Rhodes, and it was definitely a highlight of this year's trip to Greece.

We were met at the harbour and welcomed with a big smile by the lovely owner who took us to the gorgeous apartment which is a short walk from there in a perfect location. The apartment is beautifully and cleverly designed in the style of a 'tiny house' concept with the sleeping area above the bathroom/kitchen - the bed is unbelievably comfortable and we slept perfectly. The owner had bought us a lovely bottle of wine, fruit and water as a welcome gift in the fridge which was so very thoughtful and kind. The apartment really is home-from-home with everything and more that you could possibly need. There is a fantastic coffee machine (with yummy coffee!!) all kitchen appliances, fully stocked utensils and even a washing machine with washing detergent provided too! Iron and ironing board, television and a super comfortable sofa. There are also really important things that you need when staying in an apartment that often get overlooked such as tea, coffee, salt, pepper, olive oil, vinegar, washing up liquid, shower gel, kitchen towels, soap etc.... These things make a huge difference when you are only staying a few days and don't want to buy things from the market that you would only use a small amount of and have to leave behind - a great thoughtful thing to do by the owner which we really appreciated. The shower was brilliant too - super powerful 😊
We absolutely loved it here and its location was in a very peaceful part of the island, yet very central to everything. The owner was super helpful and answered any messages/calls immediately. We absolutely loved it here and are already dreaming of our return visit to stay longer - 3 nights was just not enough!

Kalkan is a kind of Hidden Gem. There are countless taste stops. There are miscellaneous hotels and pensions to suit every budget. İt is possible to reach from anywhere with various means.
Kalkan has a wonderful and clean sea. There are daily boat tours to the surrounding bays and beaches.
Very affordable shopping at the weekly local bazaar on Thursdays.
The town is full of bars and restaurants.

Megisti (Kastellorizo) is an ideal destination for relaxing holidays. The island is a hidden gem; it has crystal clear warm waters, welcoming locals and a tranquility that blows you away!! There are paths that you can take to Palaiokastro (unique place to watch the sunset) or St George of the Mountain, boats (daily cruises) to beaches which are approachable via sea only, and bars which guarantee a funny and enjoyable night!

We love Kalkan and have visited for quite a few years now, walking around gives you a good workout as the town is built on a steep hill running down to the harbour and beach. There are many restaurants including rooftop dining which gives lovely views over the bay. There are many places to stay but I believe the accommodation costs have risen over the years we have been going as Kalkan brings in a lot of tourists. A beautiful place to go though and we will continue to visit for as long as we can

Kalkan is a great location for those who enjoy good food and the sea. Almost everyone can speak English and it caters for everyone. A great place for foodies!!
Most villas have pools so it’s nice to chill back at the villa but also head out to the beaches.
The prices are not Turkish prices which is a shame so be prepared to pay home (UK) prices but with a sea view and good service.
It’s easy enough to jump in a taxi and get to the centre so it doesn’t matter if you stay either side of Kalkan. If you want to head a bit further out, Kekova (Sunken City) is just over an hour, Patara Beach is about 20 mins and Kas is lovely to walk around or catch a day trip to one of the Greek Islands.
There are a number of beach clubs across Kalkan that vary in service and price but would recommend Zest and Kalamar Beach Club. Both offer very different experiences but a nice way to spend a day.
Boat tours are a nice way of getting away for the day too with daily boat trips available both privately and as joint groups. I would highly recommend doing a private trip if there are 6 or more of you.

A beautiful island for a perfect, chilled-out escape. Very welcoming and warmth from the owners and workers of all establishments.
We loved the visit to the blue cave and St George's Island and we also loved chilling in the small bay over the other side of the island away from the harbour.
We ate a couple of times in the taverna at the top of the big white stairs next to the church. Very delicious traditional Greek cuisine with a lovely chilled vibe.

Prices are very high for beach clubs /sun loungers etc., considering that there are no beaches the prices should be more competitive . A family of 4 can easily spend £60 to access facilities.
Also Kalkan is mainly visited by British thus meaning that some of more authentic Turkish atmosphere can get lost. Moreover it is disappointing to see prices in £ - why do tourists from others part of the world need to pay in £ ?
