beautiful, if you're looking for peace and quiet and just to chill away from crowds and mass tourism you have come to the right place. A few hotels, taverns and one shop we love it. La Travena Opposite Astra Village is a beautiful restaurant run by the most amazing women and the food is excellent, lovely people. Wouldn't go by the bus time table displayed on the bus stop they are out of date. ask around and see if a local can give you an up-to-date one. But would recommend the round trip to see the island and the turtles in Agostini. We did the island tour with Kefalonia tours and that was good as well.

It's really close to the airport but we didn't find the plane noise offensive in any way. It's a load of little lanes that have grown up rather than being planned, presumably they originated as farm tracks, so it's all rather quaint and has character. But it is pretty much all houses, see google maps for location of mini-marts, restaurants, etc, not much in walking range. You need a car really if you're going to base here. There is some accom in the area but it's certainly not primarily a tourist area.

The house was perfect for our family, our two children are 9 and 11. the beds wery very comfortable, the kitchen and living room spacy and comfortable. Ideal swimming pool, garden and terrasse. We even got a free bottle of wine upon arrival. Very helpful hostess who gave us tips for beaches, restaurants and trips. When we left the house we forgot our passports and one credit card in the house and we realised when we were on the ferry towards Zakinthos! Stefanos, the owner, was extremely helpful and serviceminded and sent us the package with the next boat. Thank you so very much😊

All in all, I have to say I stay there was very enjoyable and I think this is a good choice. If you are a person or people that want a place where you can travel around the area and come back to a friendly clean Will organized hotel and have a fantastic vacation.

Very comfortable clean appartments. We rented 2, appartment and loft; as other reveiws say loft quite a bit smaller with only one bathroom and patio area smaller. Definitely need a car for getting about. Lots of parking space but steep, narrow drive to get in and out. Views spectacular and appartments arranged well so still fairly private. Swimming pool well maintained with plenty of sunloungers. Amazing air con that kept us cool in hot weather. Housekeeper extremely accommodating and kept flat lovely and clean with fresh bath and pool towels when requested.

The beach nearby was quite small and did get busy with holiday makers who were staying in the local area. The location and facilities nearby made it a very popular choice for holiday makers, especially from the UK and it also being quite close to the airport.
It is an excellent location to base yourself, especially if like us, you are first time travellers to the Island.

What I liked most was that it has beautiful beaches, a great location for beautiful sunsets. It is close to the capital Agrostoli.
But it is a small place, there are not many markets, cafes and places for entertainment.
But everything nearby is easily accessible.
I liked it and would go again

Thalia and Aria were extremely warm and welcoming hosts; we could really sense the passion and commitment to customer satisfaction within this family run business. Our apartment (clean, tidy and spacious, with some kitchen facilities) had a fantastic view, looking over both the stunning vista of Kefalonian mountains and the pool below. There was a lovely vibe. It was amazing to see the changing skies and light throughout the day. Local shops were limited but the village has a couple of reasonably priced restaurants. It is a short drive to local, beautiful clean beaches, but you do need a car to take full advantage of all the island has to offer.

I feel booking.com app and booking.com should have some "special" added bonus to a property and the host for an overall rating. Similar to britains got talent golden buzzer

Svoronata is a beautiful destination near to the airport.
Svoronata is a beautiful destination near to the airport. There are lots of stunning beaches to visit and an abundance of quality tavernas to visit - we particularly enjoyed Esperides which is set in an orange grove. We also enjoyed the lively La Calma for food and drinks and Milos for fabulous sunset views and delicious seafood. We found lots of local supermarkets for supplies and the greek people were so welcoming and friendly.
