This is a lovely apt right in the heart of terre haute. An easy walk to the port for the ferry and steps away from a bus stop that will take you round the island. The host is very friendly and helpful. There is a well equipped kitchen, a great shower and a very private patio.

Lovely quiet place, next to the sea and only ten minutes from the harbour. Welcoming hosts: when arrived, they allow us to leave our bags and gave nice recommendationsnon what to do in Les Saintes. Nice room and terrace, with drinkable water.

The host - Anny - is a very warm-hearted elderly woman who really did everything to make us feel comfortable. The breakfast was prepared with a lot of love and left no wishes unfulfilled.
The accomodation was very clean (bedsheets, towels) although you must know that the bathroom is more outside than inside (there is a beautiful flower growing into the shower).

The hammocks at Carole and Jean - Yves' place are magnificent and it is a pure joy to stay with this helpful and kind hosts. It offers excellent value for it's price, bcs it is quiet, clean, cosy, solid, natural and absolutely charming, plus it is on the main road, a short walk to everything you need in the town.
If you have a doubts about the comfort of a hammock, they are really pleasant to sleep in and have an antimosquito net. You can rent a snorkeling equipment, have a breakfast or a drink. Oh, you can also jump in to the see just across the (promenade) road. Highly recommended.

The island is small but you can use up a lot of time and energy if you don't rent some type of vehicle to navigate. It appeared that many people come for a day trip and pack in as much as possible. I'm glad we allowed 3 days to take in everything at a more leisurely pace. Restaurants were a little different. Our experience around the world has been that if the place is open, they have food available. Not so here. It can be open today but not serving food until a day and a half later. Just drinks.

It has the harbour to go to Les Saintes - super pretty with great restaurants; local town had limited evening restaurants but the accommodation allowed to make our own simple evening meals on site
On Les Saintes you need to book golf buggy carts for a family, e-bikes etc to get around; also book your midday meal as soon as you arrive
Ideally you need a hire car for longer trips - it is hillly

Only problem for me personally was no internet access.
Only problem for me personally was no internet access. But everything else was great;
Location wise too. Perfect to go to Basse Terre city centre. A very short drive.
Walking distance to an excellent supermarket and pharmacy and a
beautiful marina and yachts as well as restaurants there.
Nothing open on Sundays. Arrival on a Sunday in Guadeloupe is not good for hungry travellers!
So good to have the swimming pool there too!
