Hotels near Kotoka International Airport - ACC, Accra

I could have stayed a little longer to enjoy more of the social events and night life, also to visit a local beach. The pollution on the main roads is not pleasant, but the neighbourhood where I stayed was delightful with its market stalls and little mosques.

I stayed at Belrose Place in Accra for two weeks and overall had a pleasant stay, though there were a few bumps at the start. I arrived on a Sunday evening around 7pm, and first impressions weren’t the best. It took quite a while for reception to locate an apartment for me, and when they did, the apartment hadn’t been cleaned. I raised this concern, but was told housekeeping had finished for the day and would come the next morning. I booked the duplex apartment, and while it was nice, the living room looked quite different from the photos on Booking.com. That said, things did improve over the next few days—service got better, and I began to enjoy my stay. The staff were super lovely throughout, especially the doormen and housekeeping team—they really stood out. However, I do wish I had been given a proper tour or at least some orientation upon arrival. I had to ask around myself to find out about the gym, restaurant, and even the Wi-Fi password. It’s clear that this is a new development and still finding its feet. Hopefully, they take feedback on board to smooth out the guest experience moving forward. Despite the rocky start, I would stay here again—the location is perfect, very close to Boundary Road and easy to get a cab if needed.

The Airport Residential area is an upmarket part of Accra with some lovely properties and roads in fairy good condition. Close to the popular areas with good places to eat/drink. Plenty of taxi's, Ubers and Bolt cars to get around.

Accra is a beautiful place to visit. I loved my stay there. It was calm with good roads. I went to the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum. The final resting place of Ghana's first president. I visited the Republic bar, nice place. I wished I had enough time to stay and visit more places. I will sure return again soon. Every one should visit Accra Ghana someday.

Accra is a beautiful city. There is a lot to see and there are many entertainment venues to keep you going. The traffic can be an issue on weekday rush hour times so brace for this when travelling around the city. Uber is a great efficient way to get around. There are a few tours you can book to get a good experience of Accra and surrounding areas. Its very hot in the North American Winter months so be prepared with clothing and cooling accessories. If you get a E-Sim for your phone, unfortunately the cell phone data is a bit spotty and cuts out more often than you would like. Be prepared for this. Overall an amazing experience. I will be making my way back to Ghana for sure
