Very friendly staff, most helpful, and caring. Nice room, good mattress, quiet. I only had a very short night there and had to get to the airport too early to be able to enjoy a breakfast, but I sure would have liked a longer stay there

Staff couldn't have been more helpful or welcoming - we had had a long journey - 36hrs, from the other side of the world - we had to stay overnight near Cardiff Airport, in order to pick up a rental car the next day, and were exhausted. They kept the kitchen open especially to cook us a meal, which was great.
Food quality excellent & freshly cooked.
Good night's sleep, despite our body clocks telling us it should be daytime.
Decor is lovely, thoughtful, resting.
Would definitely stay again.

Loved this property , it had all the comforts of home. It was great to finally have access to a washer/dryer. The correspondence with the owner was great and made us feel welcomed. Great parking space and very close to Barry Island.

We were there to visit family in St Athan so spent most of our time there. Our stay at 2 Stable Cottages was lovely and we would definitely go back. Priscilla was lovely and the home made cake and milk were very much appreciated. The little house was lovely and so peaceful. Loved our stay there

Nice little seaside town, full of charm and a must for Gavin and Stacey fans. Very quiet out of season. There seems to be a lot of building work going on to improve facilities. Not too over commercialised, nice sandy beach with good selection of snack bars and cafes. Finegans Spanish style restaurant is brilliant with great staff. The railway station is situated on the seafront with good connections to Cardiff and local areas.

It's very rural indeed, though quite a few people obviously use the beach and coastal path - mainly dog walkers. Sorry, we didn't use any local pubs or shops as we were visiting relatives for meals.
We met Tucker and Danielle and both were very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful, though everything was fine with the property so we didn't need anything.

Since we arrived too late at Cardiff airport we needed to take cab to your place at 16:40, too late to buy any basic food for the next morning. We then had to leave to rent a car. I suggest that the host might have provided some basic things like a 1/2 dozen eggs, some butter, orange juice, and milk for the coffee. The key left for us didn’t lock the door either. Lastly perhaps in the instructions you should advise guests exactly how to turn on the shower in the two bathrooms. Especially the shower in the lower bathroom. I called and left three messages asking that someone call us to advise on the shower controls but never got a call back. That’s annoying. Who’s ever responsible for guests issues could be more attentive.

Perfect hosts, location and styling.
Just a few tweaks needed with bathroom products and a few more kitchen items, tea towels, larger chopping knives etc.....
However, this was the greatest place including a friendly dog and chickens......:)

I was in llantwit Major visiting friends and family as I lived in llantwit for 50 years.
It is a lovely town, has loads of history and is a very pretty area as is all the Vale of Glamorgan.
I would thoroughly recommend a visit here.
Many lovely beaches along the coast, from Barry Island to Porthcawl. Cardiff City is 30 minutes drive from Llantwit and is a beautiful city.

The cottage is not in Llancarfen - it's in Llanbethery, a separate village deeper into the countryside. Local signage is poor and sat nav not much help at times. We were out each day, so had brought food for breakfast, no shop in Llanbethery. We ate in Cowbridge and Llancarfen (Fox & Hounds open Wed - Sun) The Heritage Coast/Ogmore not far away and worth a visit. We also went to Cardiff and enjoyed a full day there.

If you love Gavin and Stacey like me then this is a must! The tour was brilliant.
There were so many pubs and cafes for great quality breakfast and food. We went to Coastal Coffee on the Island, the food was lush and the coffee was amazing, so much I returned later that day. We had a beautiful evening dinner at Cosy Vibes at Finnegans Inn, the waiter was brilliant and spoke to everyone in there.
Absolutely loved the island, the fair had lovely doughnuts, seaside had lovely sand on the beach, Marcos had great icecream, all the seaside shops you can ask for, even a Bierkeller there. Spent way too many 2ps in Nessa's Slots.
The Dolphin bar (old name- I can't remember the new name) was friendly and did nice cocktails.
So many people were so friendly that worked down there it was really refreshing for a seaside town.
We went on some walks and saw lots of history and some new up and coming places. Goodsheds opposite the pump house is made up of shipping containers and a train that has local shops, food, bars and businesses included-was a great find.
There's so many parks, a soft play for children. I will 100% go back to Barry next time with my children

Llantwit Major is a small town with a good mixture of shops and other facilities. There are a number of restaurants and pubs. Food on Sunday evenings was take-away only in September.
The town is a mixture of old and new buildings.
The picturesque coast and beach is a 10 minute drive away.

We spent most of our time on Barry Island, it's a great place if you have young children. Beautiful beach and lots of amusements. Barry itself is a little rundown which is a pity because it has a lovely village feel to it.
