David is a very kind host who will makes it an ejoyable stay. He has good tips for restaurants an places to visit. He even helps out with the reservations. We received a free room upgrade because the bigger room was available which was very nice! Facilities, breakfast and room was very good.
A tip: join David with the aperitief at 7PM each evening to get the real French experience.

The rooms are well designed, good use of space, plenty of room for a bike and luggage and my daughter loved the bunk bed! Breakfast was simple but really good and reasonably priced. Staff were really helpful. The hotel was quiet, no noise from neighbours and is located in a quiet area.

Vichy is a cute town - good restaurants and shopping, as well as spa-visits. The Ailler - river has nice paths along it and one can walk for miles. There are amazing patisseries with loads of delicious treats. Parking is easy in the city - either in the streets or in one of the many underground parkings - prices are very fair. I felt very safe walking the narrow streets - even in the late evenings. I will visit again.

I didn't really tour the town as such, I was castle hopping in the surrounding radius of 10-12 miles or so, but I did go into Vichy (just across the river) for gas and food and it's a very accessible area and mid/upscale.

This town feels lovely.
This town feels lovely. It has some gorgeous architecture and nice parks and squares. A very attractive city centre to wander around in, with good cafe and restaurant choices.
Would have been good to be able to see inside the art nouveau opera house, but it s apparently only open if there is something on. We were there November 2025
