It is a very nice, clean, new, stylish apartment. We enjoyed our stay there. The place has 2 toilets, that was very handy for a big group))
We forgot a thermos bottle, so the host kindly helped us and left it in the locket, so that we could pick it up.

The property is located in the quiet neighborhood on the 1st floor (no elevator) and has everything you need for short or longer stays - fully equipped kitchen with microwave and all utensils, comfy shower, king-size bed. There is a supermarket Aldi within 10 min. walk. Terminal with bus to airport and bus to Basel are located nearby (12 min. walk).
The host was very friendly - he waited for us and explained everything.
Overall, it was a great stay, and I would recommend the apartment.

It is a nice little town.
It is a nice little town. I only stayed here to be close to the airport since I was attending a conference in Basel.
The afternoon and first night after arrival I had a nice lunch at the bar in town and dinner at the Italian restaurant.
People are very friendly and helpful at the town.

I had only one night there and my flight was at 7.00 in the morning.
Breakfast buffet was ready at 4.30, when I came downstairs, so it was possible to have coffee and to eat something.

I am French so I was happy to stay in France while visiting Basel. Because of the poor experience we had in the apartment, we moved to another one in Switzerland. We found a very charming village with beautiful architecture and nature around. Switzerland must have been wealthier than this part of France for a long time and it shows.

If you stay in Hégenheim, France, to visit Basel, Switzerland, and you rent a car, you will have to pay an extra daily fee to cover the multiple border crossings you will be making, and the fee is not insubstantial. In addition, I heard that local taxis will not cross the border. I did not experience that, but it's something to ask about and be aware of. I don't know if the no-border-crossing issue affects shared-car services like Uber as well. Crossing the border with your own rental car is problem-free, as the border crossings are not restricted or controlled in any way. However, be aware that a pass needs to be used to park in some parking lots, such as at shopping centers where supermarkets are located. The rental car agency may provide you with the pass for free, but you have to figure out how to use it.

We used this location to spend time in Basel.
We used this location to spend time in Basel. Main train station had a tram that went to Basel every 15 minutes. Make sure you travel with your passport if you are going to go to Switzerland or France as passports are being checked itermittendly at the borders. Our property was approx. a 20 min walk to the trainstation. Flat city, many shops and restaurants along the way. If you go at Christmas time, the Christmas market was at the front of the hotel.

We were there to catch a river cruise for the Christmas markets. It was one of the best places we stayed on our 5 week trip around northern Europe. The tram system is easy to navigate. Very clean and if you stay near the river, you are close to everything. They had great restaurants and an awesome roof top bar ( B1 roof top bar ) just a short tram ride away from the center of the city.

If you have an early morning flight then make sure not to rely on Uber. Book a taxi in advance. I very nearly missed my 6am flight (which was a reschedule after a cancellation the evening before) as there were NO Ubers around at 3am. I was lucky I didn't need to check baggage otherwise I would definitely have missed it. You cannot walk to the airport from here - even though it is right next to the airport - which is massively frustrating.
