The facilities are all fresh, everything is new and clean. We slept well, it was calm, our room was comfortable and big enough. The bathroom was impeccably clean.
There are around 10 rooms within the courtyard area, ours was very nice.
The Italian owners treated us really well. We did not have a chance to eat at the restaurant on the ground floor, but given it's probably the only real Italian one in the area, it would have been good.

We were pleasantly greeted by a charming woman who showed us around the hotel, pointing out the amenities like the indoor pool and the lovely gardens overlooking the sea. The staff were all helpful and gracious. The hotel setting is superb. Not only does it overlook the sea, but it is within just a few miles of Honfleur and
Deauville, both lovely towns, the former with a picturesque port and the latter with a magnificent beach.

Christian and his wife were amazing hosts and we were warmly welcomed. The room was very nicely decorated, spotless clean and equipped with everything we needed and . Bed was incredibly comfortable and the garden offered a relaxing atmosphere and Christian offered us a nice Calvados as digestive. In the morning we were treated to a sumptuous breakfast with baguette, croissants, different cheeses, marmalades, crepes, cereals, apple juice and a freshly mixed fruit salad - just delicious!

The beach is wonderful and when the tide is out one can walk for miles. Very beautiful at sunset. There is also a marvellous walk through the woods next to the beach. It is a very romantic place with very few English visitors. There are a couple of cafés but the best place for food is at Le Bellevue Hotel. A market on Tuesday morning, a local small supermarket and a couple of small shops also a delightful Brocante. Just a short drive away is Honfleur, Trouville and Deauville. There is a marvellous new Musée d'Art at Deauville "Les Franciscians" and of course a Musée de Boudin and Le Maison de Satie at Honfleur.

I was in Deauville for the Bridge Festival, so chose the location for that reason. However, I would say that some of the restaurants in Deauville are not great value or quality and prefer to eat in Trouville where there is better choice and value in my opinion. It is all down to personal taste, obviously many wealthy Parisians and foreign visitors like to be in Deauville, for the beach and top hotels. Relative to Trouville it is quite smart, but Trouville is more lively and overall more interesting. Next time, I will stay in Trouville although it is more of a walk to the casino.

Villerville is a tiny, unspoilt French seaside village with a lovely old church that looks like it could hold four times the population! We discovered three restaurants and a Creperie. There is also a small well stocked supermarket. The streets are narrow and most street parking is currently free.

Staff were outside reception door smoking. Gave us the wrong room which was being used by other people!
Our room smelt! Chipped furniture and no pillows.
Old and tired and just generally bad. We left. Wouldn't give us a refund but it was worth finding somewhere else!

Quaint tourist-centric city with.a large sprawling beach that seems to have more than enough space for everyone. The restaurant scene is quite good but challenging to avoid the mediocre tourist traps. The high point is the fish market where you can get some excellent seafood in a sparse sit down space. Travel by train is recommended as parking is notoriously difficult at any time.
