The chateau is in the middle of a very nice area. If you are looking to disconnect this place is for you.
The breakfast and the service dinner are amazing, gourmet. Very happy with the hotel and experience.

The most beautiful place to stay, house pack with history that host kindly told us about. Also most comfortable bed we ever slept in. Hosts we extreamly helpful and just fantastic people to meet. We would never forget time spent there. Definately would recommend to everyone to stay in. If we will be in area again we will definatelly try booking at least one night there.

A lovely property in a great location very spacious and exceptionally clean. All bedrooms were very well provided with comfortable beds all at a high standard and immaculate throughout. The kitchen is fabulous and fitted with modern equipment and utensils ideal for a family or large group. Bonus of the outside swimming pool which was a welcome area for relaxing after a long journey. The property is very private and comfortable.

Durtal is a sleepy little town but has an imposing castle at it's centre and the beautiful Loire running through it. There is the typical French charm of the buildings and infrastructure with the obligatory boulangerie from which to get your bread and pastries from.
Unfortunately the choice of eating places seemed limited, due to the after effects of Covid and the rise in energy bills.
It is however well situated as a base from which to explore the wider Loire region safe in the knowledge you can return to a very peaceful "bolt-hole" at the end of your day.
