Only 5 minutes drive from the airport. Very close to grocery shop. Easy check in with the code for the key box from the owners. Kitchen had everything we needed to make meals by ourselves. There is even a communal box where you can access basic cooking needs.

Nice place not far from airport. I think it has four bedrooms sharing 2 large bathrooms. Rooms are nice with 2 having views over the water. A handy kitchen is also available. Its about a 5 minute walk to the supermarket and a couple of restaurants. There is also a bus stop close which will take you to the main centres. I'd just like to thank the owner for reimbursing me for my food that the cleaner threw out due to a misunderstanding. It was much appreciated.

We had an absolutely fantastic time at this cozy holiday house! The amenities were superb, and the highlight was definitely the wonderful jacuzzi—a perfect way to relax after a hiking trip. Perfect to explore the Vagar island. The host was incredibly attentive and friendly, always ensuring we had everything we needed. The charming decor and warm ambiance made it a truly memorable stay.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Giljanes Camping, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The location is absolutely stunning, nestled in the heart of the Faroe Islands with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes. It is an ideal spot for those seeking both relaxation and adventure.
The facilities at Giljanes Camping are impeccable. Everything was spotlessly clean, from the communal areas to the bathrooms and showers. The campsite is well-maintained, offering all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The kitchen area is spacious and fully equipped, which made meal preparations easy and enjoyable.
One of the highlights of our stay was the exceptional hospitality provided by the owner, Kristjan. He went above and beyond to ensure that every guest felt welcome and at home. His knowledge of the local area and willingness to share tips and recommendations for activities and attractions were invaluable. Kristjan’s warmth and friendliness truly made our stay memorable.
Overall, Giljanes Camping is a gem in the Faroe Islands. Whether you’re a solo traveler, a family, or a group of friends, this campsite offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, comfort, and exceptional service. I highly recommend it to anyone planning a trip to the Faroe Islands. One more thing to add is that I wasn’t able to say my final thank-you to the owner, so I’ll have to plan another trip to the Faroe Islands soon!

Good location on the island - many points of interest can be easily reached; large TV (Samsung) with apps (Netflix, YouTube, etc.), overall comfortable bed, relatively nicely arranged interior. The apartment was pre-heated before our arrival - so this was great. The apartment has also large fridge, dishwasher and other kitchen amenities.
Located by Tórshavn Harbour, this hotel is 300 metres from the Old Town and government buildings at Tinganes. Flat-screen TVs, tea/coffee makers and private bathrooms are found in all rooms.

Postcard perfect village and if u look back across the harbour at night with the lights its magical. Little beach with incredible view up the right hand coastline provided perfect backdrop for doing tai chi.
Not too many amenities available like any of the villages outside torshavn and klaksvik so would recommend a visit to fk or bonus supermarket which is not far out the airport if u take a right rather than left to sorvagur. Bonus is cheaper.

A very convenient location when arriving by air from overseas. Just a few minutes' drive from the airport, its' a great base to get your bearings. The town has adequate grocery shopping and a petrol station and is convenient for exploring Gasadalur as well as crossing over to Streymoy and beyond.

Sandavágur is a quiet village, and besides its beautiful church does not stand out too much. It is quite conveniently located, only 10 km from the airport. Options for eating out, or even grocery shopping are limited within the village, and require travel to neighbouring villages. The local fish restaurant is highly recommended!
Some walking tracks are available, but it does not require a multi-day stay to visit the village and its immediate area. It is possible, but not ideal, to travel the Faroe Islands without a car.

Not so easy to get around the islands by public bus - you always need to go via the capital, so day trips are tricky to organise. Vestmanna is a sweet, relaxing, genuine mid-sized "village" - the best thing to do is just walk, enjoy nature, make contact with people. It is relatively economical. The bird-cliffs are the main attraction (visit by boat).

Laynar is very quiet and peacefull, and is a nice jumping off point to get to the airport, Torhavn and other islands. The only downside is that the nearest grocery store is about a 15 minute drive away.

A very nice village with a small port.
A very nice village with a small port. Very close to the airport in a wonderful Fjord! I lived close to the ferry to Mykines, although I couldn´t make it that time. It´s just a short car drive to Gasadalur and the lakes. There is also a nice cafe in the center, close to the supermarket which is open from 8-22, 6 days a week. A perfect location to explore the beautiful islands!

The hiking and views, which pictures and explaining just don't capture. I didn't find the Faroes to be a tourist trap type of location. Not a lot of shopping, not a lot of dining, just views, quiet and things that seemed a bit more expensive than elsewhere, most likely because it's an island in the middle of the Atlantic that has to have things imported. The roads and tunnels are well made, but sheep and cattle can be in the road and so I'd recommend doing the speed limit, especially on blind curves. Everyone I met was friendly and healthy. The gas station has some pretty good hot dogs.

Quite typical Faroese town: small and quiet but at least one OK grocery and two restaurants. Also distillery (!) and harbour where you can get boat trips to see birds etc.
Vestmanna, and Faroe Islands in common, are not yet spoiled by tourists, and all people were friendly.
