We booked the villa for 7 guests, but unfortunately, it was only set up to accommodate 6 people. However, the staff were quick to respond and brought us an extra bed, which we really appreciated. The villa itself was absolutely beautiful—very clean, well-maintained, and had a cozy, stylish atmosphere. The sauna was a highlight of our stay—spacious and relaxing. Despite the small issue with the initial setup, we really enjoyed our time and would definitely consider coming back

Great home with plenty of space for our family of 8. There were more beds for our party so kids had a choice on where they wanted to sleep. Really nice living and dinning space for the family to hang around together in the evening. Owner was great at responding to my questions or anything we needed.
Just 4 km from central Vaasa, Hotel Vallonia offers free private parking, free WiFi access and a billiards room. Botnia Hall is 3 minutes’ drive away.

Vasa was fine.
Vasa was fine. I live in Umeå, so taking the ferry over was easy. I regret visiting in winter as it was quite boring. The city, however, is beautiful, and I enjoyed walking around and exploring. I would say the bus system is poor, as I had wanted to visit Vörå as well, however the buses to outside of the city did not run on Sundays. Most restaurants were closed on Sunday/Monday/Tuesday as well, which was a disappointment.

The town has interesting old buildings, and the seaside is open with parks all around. There are some good restaurants in the Rewell shopping mall. With buses it is easy to get to places slightly out of town. There are playgrounds in the middle of the city for kids and the main library has books in various languages for them to sit and read for awhile. We liked Edvin's Path, which you can get to on bus #15.
However, if you want to see the Kvarken archipelago, wait until mid-June to visit Vaasa, otherwise there will be no boat tours.

Good: Good shopping opportunities, especially at Kivihaka.
Good: Good shopping opportunities, especially at Kivihaka. I estimate the Swedish-speaking percentage of the residents at 75%, probably the highest in Finland by some margin. 24/7 kiosk at Shell Pitkäkatu. Generally nice-looking city. Tropiclandia was nice for a summer day.
Less impressive: Getting to/from the ferry pier is chaotic (especially when the ferrytaxi driver didn't speak Swedish nor English). It was not easy to find any of the city's restaurants.
Personal tip: I'd favour trying to figure out how to get from downtown to Kivihaka by bus next time, due to the overly snaking pavement paths between the two.
