It was exceptional for £13 a night. Friendly staff, close to the South bus station. The room was very good at that price, fan, big TV and pretty good WiFi.

I was only there, sadly, REALLY briefly, but can say the city is really pretty, the locals are super nice, and I hope to return for a proper length of time. The only annoying thing is that it's hard to find public toilets. You have to pay for them (including paying for toilet paper) if you can even find them!

Let’s see the pro and cons… pros mall and grocery store is a couple of blocks away so you can get everything you want there ( exchange money, buy snacks, drinks, alcohol, great restaurants 3rd floor at mall, gym since I work out etc etc. ) and if you want more authentic Colombia food go up one block to find plenty of that and up 5-6 blocks with ton more restaurants and a park that everyone is gather were you can relax and chill with the locals. The only con is the hotel doesn’t offer more options in food for breakfast and room service but I know what I paid and they were great with everything else especially service, amazing friendly well above and beyond.

Santa Elena is beautiful, but it's very Cold! Always!! It's not just a seasonal thing, it's around 9000 ft altitude, so it's quite cold all year round. So dress appropriately! Also,houses don't have heating or insulation here, sometimes they'll have a fire place, but not always. I highly recommend booking places with a fire place as it makes a huge difference at night. Also, highly recommend you have a car when passing through here because everything is quite far!
We went to Piedras Blanca part of Parque Arvi, and to be honest I was underwhelmed. Perhaps because it's low season, many parts were closed, but it didn't seem that interesting to me.
We ate a Guadalajarra (2 Rs) restaurant. A tiny little Mexican restaurant, which I highly recommend!! We had the burger and the quesadillas, and both were excellent!

Envigado is fine, not that special, but an OK area.
Envigado is fine, not that special, but an OK area. A few stylish cafes a few blocks away in the Junin area, but lots of average bars with two or three stupid TV sets showing sports games that no one, of course, is watching. Only one out of every four does not have an attention grabbing awful TV, so it kinda cuts down the choices.
Medellin is a nice forested city and that is what makes Envigado good: as a part of a pleasant city.

We stayed in the Laureles area, a residential leafy part of the city with lots of restaurants and shops. We mostly ate in the hotel restaurant.
Taxis are plentiful and very friendly. Plaza Botero is amazing. About 20 or more sculptures the locals can touch, climb on then etc:

A gorgeous town square with awning covered pedestrian friendly shops and restaurants surrounding the square. Sat at a street table in the shade and watched the world go by!! Also a casino there!! Thoroughly enjoyed the square several times during my stay.
