It is an unattractive town in a beautiful place.
It is an unattractive town in a beautiful place. My main reason for stopping was to see the archeological museum, which had very good reviews. The town's web site lists it as an attraction, but it has evidently been closed for weeks or months. Nothing about opening hours or reopening date is posted outside. The web site also lists a tourist information center as open during the day, but it too was closed, and no new hours were posted.

The hotel is located in the heart of San Felipe, right on the Plaza.
The staff was incredibly friendly, the internet high speed, and the breakfast was excellent.
There's a great restaurant next door, "Bien Hecho".
