We booked our excursions through the hotel and they were fantastic! Not only was our guide the best, but the lunches we had with the full day excursions far exceeded our expectations. The rooms were light and airy with plenty of outdoor seating available. Our reservation included breakfast, which very good; and the other meals we had at the restaurant were excellent.

Our stay at Pacific Bungalows was wonderful. The bungalows are located in a picturesque large garden/field and a really pleasant 10 minute walk into the main town, but far enough away to feel like a total retreat. The roof is thatched, and the sound of the thatch in the breeze and bird song was so relaxing! The host's house is nearby and Lea was on hand for any questions or help, but otherwise left us to enjoy the accomodation and enjoy Rapa Nui. Really lovely stay and highly recommend!

Best Hostel ever!!
Benjamin and his family run this lovely place (no volunteers) and they are the nicest people I ever met.. They are always around and help with everything. They can organise every kind of tour, cars, bikes much cheaper than every other place. They even took us out on private tours for free and invited us for a super fish meal.
The hostel is in a quiet side road, just a short walk to the center, the harbours and the beaches.
The place is very beautiful. A huge garden to relax with flowering bushes everywhere. A grill pavillion, a cafeteria and 2 big kitchens. You can even camp there.
The rooms are spacey, (no bunkbeds) with big lockers to fit in a Trekking rucksack and have a terrace with chairs tables and space to hang up laundry.
They get cleaned daily and every week we got new bed linens ( I stayed 20 days)
The kitchen is very spacey with every equipment you need to cook real meals. Lots of fridges, where everybody has its own seperate space. And you get a box with your own dishes (cup, plate, cutlery ...) big enough to fit in some groceries. You take it with you to your room.
I can't imagine a better place. Thank you so much to Benjamin, Jenny and Wilan to make my stay so very special.
If I ever come back to Rapa Nui it will be a pleasure to stay with you again.

We stayed for an entire week to unwind from 2 months in South America, but that might be a bit long if you're just looking to see the Moai.
Hanga Roa was much more sparse than expected, but once you find your bearings you'll find there are plenty of restaurants dotted around and almost all of them have good ratings.
There's a small place for public swimming which is walled off so it's safe, but slightly rocky so wear shoes. There was a dog there but he was very friendly!
The people are friendly and everything feels really relaxed, and there's the opportunity to see the sunsets in that area too.
...maybe be slightly careful with the drinks there...the wine was fine and what you'd expect, but we had a Daiquiri in one of the seafront bars and they were so strong we nearly died. Honestly - we could barely walk back safely to our hotel after just two each and we both felt low-energy for multiple days afterwards. You have been warned.

This was a trip of a lifetime.
This was a trip of a lifetime. I recommend everyone to visit Easter island. There is so much to do and see. This is an amazing place to visit.
We loved doing the tours around the island and seeing the Moais everywhere and learning about the history of the island. My favorite places were the Quarry, Anakena beach and seeing the sunrise at Tongariki.

Leave your watch and sense of urgency behind when traveling to Rapa Nui. Days begin with the sounds of Cocks crowing, the weather is temperate and the night skies are filled with stars. There are a variety of restaurants, cafes, bars for all budget levels (generally moderate priced). BOOK YOUR AIRPORT ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE TRANSPORTATION (we did it through our hotel) in advance-taxi's are not abundant. We enjoyed the tours--make sure to see the sunset at Ahu Tahai and the sunrise at Tongariki!
