Location was central to all of our activities. Front desk staff were very nice.

Featuring an indoor/outdoor pool and hot tub, this Victoria oceanfront hotel is located around the Inner Harbour, only 15 minutes' walk from the city centre. The hotel location was superb, on the waterfront in a quiet area, near to the Fisherman's Wharf but also within walking distance of downtown. The facilities were first class and the staff were unfailingly charming and helpful. We ate in their Blue Crab restaurant and found the food and presentation to be very good. On the basis of this experience we would definitely stay in this hotel or other Coast hotels again. I believe that they are owned by Japanese management and it shows in their attention to detail and service.

Victoria is beautiful and manageable city to explore. Its Parliament House, Fairmont Hotel and harbour location make it very attractive. Victoria's wildlife cruises are exceptional, the scenic flights were popular and its museum was interesting. The spectacular Butchart Gardens are nearby as is the Malahat Sky Walk and the natural beauty of Vancouver Island is easily accessible from Victoria. We found the BC public transport excellent and affordable joining up with the BC Ferries efficiently. The ferry crossing was an experience in itself! Victoria has a range of excellent restaurants Around the harbour there was quality Japanese and Italian as well as pub food and fish and chips.. A special place to go!
We have been visiting Victoria for many years. Enjoy walking around the city, water front and parks. There is so much to do and see - Butchart Gardens, Chinatown, Oak Bay and historic sites. The bus service is easy to use and the Tourist Center is a big help. Doing high tea is always fun. We always stop at Rogers Chocolates and Murchie's for tea and snack. There are so many restaurants and we try different ones each time but we always enjoy eating at Tapa Bar Bodega Poco. Enjoy Your Time In Victoria!!
James Bay, Beacon Hill Park, Government Street and all surrounding historic downtown core are destinations for tourists and travellers by providing a sense of "old European city" vibe. However, the rest of downtown still suffers from homelessness and this is something that should be prioritized by like local authorities.
On our first trip to Victoria, we were not comfortable with the many homeless people we witnessed, and this greatly affected our opinion. On our second visit we did more exploring and our view of Victoria changed for the better. Many good shops and great waterfront. The Hotel we stayed at was in a great location and my wife and I were treated very well. Breakfast was included and it was one of the best ever! A large homeless population is still troubling! Chuck
We love the cities walkability even in the rain in winter. We love having a hot chocolate and people watching. We love exploring Quadra Village, Oak Bay Village, James Bay Village, Cook Street and North Park Village. We love treasure hunting in the thrift stores. There are lots of great bakeries and cafes to explore. We loved the Belfry theatre in Fernwood Village. Breakfast at the Parliamentary Dining room was great. Beacon Hill park is great...as are the beaches...we love the scale of the city, everything is within walking distance for us.
We enjoy Victoria so much as it is a quieter city and easy to get around, nothing is too far away. Traffic is lighter and it is just an enjoyable picturesque place to be. We enjoyed eating food from the Whole Foods buffet as we were able to pick and choose from an assortment of healthy items.
