Set in Campbell River, 3.9 km from Elk Falls Provincial Parks, Chateau Riverside offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a terrace. Guests can use the sauna, or enjoy river views.... When we arrived, Sunny gave us a very friendly welcome and gave us many recommendations for hikes and restaurants in the area. He was an amazing and very helpful host. The location of the Chateau Riverside is very good, just about 20 mins walk or 5 mins by car to the centre. Our apartment was very big and comfortable, spotless clean, very well equipped and with an amazing view of the river where we could watch deer, eagles and other birds and also raccoons. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, 6/5 ⭐️

The room was spotless, spacious, and very comfortable — the bed was great, and the bathroom had all the accessories you could possibly need. It truly felt like staying at home. Lorrie was a fantastic host — warm, welcoming, and an excellent cook! The breakfast was exceptional and clearly prepared with care. Campbell River is a pleasant ocean-side city, with lovely views of mountains and ocean. Interesting things to see, including First Nations art/carvings. A decent variety of restaurants, including ethnic. Opportunities to explore the outdoors, including regional and Provincial parks.
Quathiaski Cove itself is basically the ferry terminal with a couple of coffee shop/food places. Quadra Island is a nature destination. We took a zodiak tour with Reuben of Wild Water Adventures and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Farmer’s market was a lot of fun and we went to Strathcona state park but elk falls is very close to town. Great food options! Milo’s sushi does spectacular and inclusive breakfasts! Fogg ducker coffee spot was stunning.
We found Quathiaski Cove was an excellent location for our visit to Quadra Island. It is located very near the terminal for the Campbell River ferry although the ferry and traffic did not produce any noise -- no boat whistle and we were not close enough to be affected by the small amount of ferry traffic. The view of cove and mountains was fabulous and there was always interesting activity on the water. We saw eagles and deer from our room. There is a little fish and chip shop and a coffee kiosk at the dock. A restaurant is presently being built right next to the resort. The little village is within walking distance and on Saturdays a Farmer's Market is held at the village. We noticed that other accommodation on the island was isolated and one would be required to use their car constantly. High Point Resort has a lovely swimming pool.
Campbell River Museum was very interesting. A bonus was that it is very close to Fireflies bnb. Elk Falls and the Suspension Bridge there are very worthwhile - lucky for us it didn’t become dark too early (7.45pm) as we didn’t leave much time to explore here. We also visited The Salmon Farm and saw two black bears there - one of which caught and ate at least 5 salmon while we were watching. However, we felt the general presentation of the farm was tired, even allowing for the fact it is a working concern - restrooms needed attention, no brochures in holders, no staff to consult. Not a good look for visitors.
This place is on Quadra Island, a jewel of the northern islands. There are good restaurants, nice resorts, good food markets, lovely scenery and drives. There's even a nice winery on this island.
