Excellent location, well positioned in a quiet area and within easy walking access to the main centre. Efficient and friendly staff, especially the hostess, who helped me so much and went above and beyond to make my stay there extremely smooth. She helped me organize so many things and was truly a blessing. I appreciated being able to leave my Hire vehicle parked securely there whilst I went for a short trip to Zimbabwe. Also assisted me to organize the shuttle transport to and from Zimbabwe as well - really extremely helpful. Clean and spacious room, and an excellent breakfast. I really enjoyed my stay there. Highly recommended.
The river cruise on the Chobe was the best - lovely views, good sightings! Secondly, a big treat was to walk across the Gazangula bridge where 4 countries meet (Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe. A sight i will never forget!
Kasane is a good place to stay if you want to visit the incredible Chobe national park. It is a very small town, rather a village, with a few restaurants and supermarkets. The town itself is perhaps not very charming but the tours provided here are excellent and you can travel individually and book the tours. There are some luxurious lodges by the river as well as cheaper options in town.
Cruising the river was awesome, we went twice and the second time we saw the elephant swimming over to the Island too feed on the grass, it was an amazing sight that we will never forget. We took an organized tour and had lunch at an amazing resort
It was easy to get around and we were able to get everything we needed. The boat trip on the Chobe River was unforgettable with the river crossing of the elephants and the sun going down! We also visit the Chobe Game Reserve and were able to see many lions, Kudu, impalas and a leopard!!! We did the early morning game drive and visitors must remember to dress warmly! It is lovely on the open vehicles, but it is very cold!!!! We would love to visit again, but most of the roads are in a terrible condition.
Kasane is a convenient gateway for Chobe safaris, but in terms of accommodation, the variety is quite limited and not as refined as what you'll find in nearby destinations. Personally, I would prefer staying in Livingstone and doing a day trip to Kasane, as it offers a wider range of quality stays and overall a more well-rounded experience.
Kasane is a great place to explore Chobe river front by both vehicle and boat. It has a good range of shops/ food / drink options and you might be lucky to see the resident warthog or banded mongoose families wandering about round town. They are perfectly harmless! It is also very easy (at least in season) to join a tour to Victoria Falls for a day. Most people are passing through as self drivers or on organised tours but I have now stayed twice, without a vehicle, and had a great time using local tour companies for wildlife adventures. It's a wonderful place!
