Breakfast had lots of different great options, everything fresh. The room was particularly spacious with enough room for all luggage, adequate place for work and the shower was amazing. The owner is really kind and he makes the best "arabic curd!!!

Very complete breakfast; at this price you won't find a better breakfast in Brazil; very clean room and shower; wifi good enough for online meetings; I needed more power sockets to plug in my work equipment and the hotel got me an extension which solved the issue; location right in city center with access to stores and restaurants; I extended my stay directly with the hotel by adding another day a time which was no problem; will definitely come back if in town for a few days

Popular small mountain resort. Several small waterfalls in the area and accessible in different ways. Open top jeeps are popular, but it can be done walking as well (10 km round trip).
There are plenty restaurants (and shops) in the centre, but it is a little crowded.
Penedo is about 30 min drive from Itatiaia national park where there are there more hiking possibilities. (car needed)

Alcontilado is a must! The organization of the hike and vsit to the 9 waterfalls makes it easier. I was impressed that the way the trails had been enhanced with guardrails, steps and signs made it possible for people who may have been overweight, elderly or even with a physical disability to make the climb. Very inclusive!
