The owner was amazingly helpful. We arrived in sofia after a 6-hour train ride and they organised a taxi from the station. We only stayed 1 night as we had a flight the following day. They also helped us with a taxi to the airport, which is very close. We'd stay there again and explore the area if we ever go back to Sofia.

The apartment looks exactly the same as the photos. Since my flight landed in Sofia past midnight, it was easy to get to this apartment as it was relatively close to the airport. The apartment was super close to the metro station, which made it convenient to get to the city center, which takes you around half an hour. The host provided very detailed messages and videos to explain how to enter the apartment, which was super helpful as well.

So good and tidy apartment. Despite the furniture and repair is not super new, it has all necessary equipment for one-two nights stand. Extremely pleasent bonus was to find a lot of food and drinks in the fridge, so after arriving from the airport in the middle of the night when all shops are closed you can find something to eat and drink. It was so nice from the owner - to take care about travelers. I would like to stay in this apartment again. Also it was fine to find the coffee machine, so we could drink fresh coffee in the morning.

Located around 6 miles (10 kilometres) from the city centre, Sofia Airport serves as a hub for Wizz Air, Ryanair, Bulgaria Air, BH Air and Bulgarian Air Charter. The airport is connected to the city centre via the Sofia Metro Line 1, with journeys taking around 18 minutes. Ticket machines are located at the airport metro station. The 84 bus also runs between the city and airport terminals and journeys last around 45 minutes.

It’s in a quiet village zone outside Sofia very close to the airport and has parking at the hotel which I must say is a very big bonus as I insure you after landing you don’t want to try to negotiate the traffic in Sofia .

I did not know anything about Sofia but my companion suggested going there. I then looked up on the internet and found many things that would be of interest to me. We went to the synagogue, the mosque, the red flat, the sofia museum, many ruins. We found places to buy food since the apartment had a full kitchen we did not to eat in restaurants all the time. But there are plenty of places to eat as well. I never felt unsafe. Many people speak English but I was also prepared with a translator on my phone. That was useful when reading signs as not many of them have English. We really enjoyed the "old world" flavor of Sofia with the streetcars whizzing by. My one regret is that I did not buy tickets to the opera or ballet in advance and they were sold out when I got there.

Sofia was a very pleasant surprise. First of all, the airport is right next to the city (and you can take the metro to get into the city, paying with your bank or credit card). The city itself, really nice. Architecture (buildings, churches, museums) quite interesting. Prices are way more friendly than West Europe! (having been on France and Germany the days before arriving to Bulgaria, it was highly welcomed!). A lot of history (which is the main reason I got there). Transport works out fine (metro, buses, trolleys and trams). Overall, a great experience and a must-see city.

From our hotel the city was well within walking distance and the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful when we inquired about a particular day trip and the receptionist organised it all for us at no extra cost and they even provided a taxi to collect us from the airport on our arrival date .
