The property was clean, spacious with all necessities and very quiet neighbourhood. I am exceptional thankful for having, basic needs, e.g having a cup of tea. The property is 10 minutes from the airport which made location perfect.

Very clean and lovely quiet apartment

The place really feels like home. I like the fact that it isn't too far from the airport and the surrounding area is quiet. The hosts are delightful and welcoming and the apartment itself is very clean. Wonderful!

The couple who is running the B&B are lovely. Very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our short stay very much. Easy to access from the airport and the breakfast was lovely.

Our stay at the Hidden Gem, The Hidden Gem is a small and very fine Bed & Breakfast in the south-east of Barbados, 50m from the coast and a good 10 minutes from the airport. You can get on the #11 bus about 500m away and explore the island without a car. The "Hidden Gem" is a very well maintained large private home. On the first floor there is a lounge area to the right, a living and dining area to the left with a large open kitchen where the owner and her staff prepare breakfast. As soon as you enter the house you will notice the lovely decoration and furnishings. This attention to detail is evident throughout the house, as well as in the garden and pool area. Our room, for example, is a tribute to Audrey Hepburn. Outside: There are several places to sit and relax. We really enjoyed our breakfast outside. Breakfast was offered to us individually: French toast, the typical Caribbean sweet plantains, but also egg dishes on request were very tasty. Our room on the second floor was quite large and had a modern bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. Just to mention a small detail, the towels were nice and of very good quality! WLAN throughout the house was excellent. My wife and I will especially remember the hospitality and genuine helpfulness shown to us by Ameena & Ann-Marie. You can tell from the well-kept condition of the house, the cleanliness (!) and above all the atmosphere that Ann-Marie has lived abroad for a long time and has brought her experience and standards back to her home country and lives in this hidden gem. Thank you so much for taking us in when we needed it (our return flight was cancelled due to the fire at Heathrow).

An, honestly, unexpected gem when you drive there. The neighborhood looks a bit shabby and does not invite you for an evening walk. But…the resort exceeds its own description. The complex is designed in Mediterranean/African architecture with Gaudi-like shapes and works by local artists. The rooms have been perfectly renovated (2023), really spotless and cared for down to the last detail. The resort borders the tempestuous ocean and has a beautiful private swimming pool. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Nice to know that one of the managers/owners (?) is called Liesje, a typically Dutch name. Yet she is not from the Low Countries. The surroundings may be a bit less, but the resort has all the amenities. Too bad that the bar and restaurant are separate, so you have to pay separately each time. But that seems to have something to do with taxes. The small negatives outweigh the value for money. And therefore a: 10
