United StatesWhat a find!!!! We absolutely loved our peaceful stay and the abundant wildlife viewing on our walk (hundreds of flocking birds, emu and roos, horses, cows and of course, Ralf..the happiest dog to greet us!! .
The place was huge!!!! Easily could stay a week here and rest and enjoy the goof life. Thanks for giving me carrots to feed your horses.
The kitchen table chairs were so comfortable and padded, great after a long drive.
What a wonderful place to have found. We appreciate the great stay and care you showed! Thank you!

SwitzerlandWe got a warm welcome from the owner, Dan who showed us around the building and the property.
His backyard is open to guests and surrounded by lush vegetation and a creek. Perfect for wildlife spoting. If you love birds, platypus, wombats, bandicoots, sugargliders and possums it is the place to be.
It was a beautiful evening and morning accompanied by the many birdsongs around us.
The queensize bed was comfortable and everything including the ensuit toilet, shower and even the little privat veranda was clean.
Dan was a really nice guy, fun to talk to and even gave us a little wildlife spotting tour.

Marlo is a beautiful little town with a superb beach and...
Marlo is a beautiful little town with a superb beach and lots of other coastal activities. It has a great pub and a local brewery as well. It is a hidden gem and is only about a four hour drive from Melbourne.

The birdsong was real, and beautiful. The room was comfortable and basic, although not the one shown on bookings. The host was friendly. The place generally was run down and would benefit from TLC.
We slept well. Breakfast was less than expected so we ate later.

With 7 national parks, spectacular coast of 90 mile beach...
With 7 national parks, spectacular coast of 90 mile beach it's a fisherman's, hiker's, photographer's & surfer's (in season) paradise.
The scenery is amazing, the Golf club in Orbost is wonderful & the locals are very friendly & welcoming.
The pub at Marlo served great food which was very reasonably priced.
We travelled from Sydney to attend a wedding which was held at the Golf Club & the staff could not have been better, with everything for the occasion sourced locally. The local produce was outstanding!
The local area is struggling & needs support, so cold weather or not, come on Australia.

orbost is a quaint little town for a stop-over.
orbost is a quaint little town for a stop-over. There's not really much to do other than any other small country town: they've got a good IGA and a swimming pool. Marlo and Cape Conran are an easy drive to access the beach.

As keen photographers we were disappointed at what Marlo...
As keen photographers we were disappointed at what Marlo itself had to offer. There was only a fishing jetty on the river and not much else. Only a couple of shops. The pub was good though.
About 10 - 15kms out of town is the Conran Coast with the main feature, Salmon Rocks worth a visit.
Mot Beach was also lovely and if you walk to the right, you can see where the Snowy River enters the sea (at a distance) so that was pretty special.
We didn't do the coast walk but I think that would be nice.

I didnt have much of an opportunity to see the shops - seems...
I didnt have much of an opportunity to see the shops - seems to be a few vintage/second hand stores that i wanted to visit. We ate at Leon's palace as the orbost hotel's chef was ill therefore the restaurant was closed. The food was great. It is a small town with not lots to do, although we wouldve liked to experience it a little more, although we had just been there passing through.

Marlo is beautiful and you have the River, beaches and Rainforest nearby . In July it is the off season so it is peaceful, with mild weather and not busy . In summer I think it would be ghastly !

Orbost river was such a great place to cool down and have a swim. The locals were there too and friendly
Close to Buchan Caves which we visited and some waterfalls. Brothers has a brewery to enjoy and there is a terrific Foodworks in town for your basic needs- bread, milk etc.
