Phil (who sunlights as a math lecturer for a university) has made the Guesthouse a labor of love, and a haven of hospitality. He can describe the history of the building & the town. The “chef’s kitchen” is where Prof Phil prepares the breakfasts that you order the night before on a checklist. The coffee-maker is not available for guests (it’s a complicated device) but coffee packets/tea bags/etc w/ a water boiler are all available. There’s a fridge on the upper floor, too, with the themed rooms designed by Phil’s young wife, each with a primary color scheme… On-street parking is right outside the door, and the “main drag” is 5 steps away with shopping options commensurate with the town’s size. Phil is also very helpful with local information & can make phone calls to check on things. Light-cancelling shades keep the early morning sun from waking weary travelers. I didn’t even have a chance to try the big-screen TV or fancy stereo.
