We came to sweden at the exact time of storm hans, so our timing wasnt great and we had to sit inside a lot, but the owner did everything he could to make us comfortable. We could watch netflix, go to the sauna, cook, very nice!

I loved the breakfast - best one I've had, ever. My first trip to Sweden and it's the best place I ever visited, both the country and the hotel. Rooms are superb as a whole too, just wish the bed was a bit firmer - for my taste. Met some of the coolest guys ever, as well. Graham, Max (was the second I think), and I can't remember the name of the third one for the love of me. I wish I could, but if you are reading this, it was a pleasure to hang out with you, guys. They were on a business trip, from England, but too bad we never exchanged numbers or something. Just know you guys were the highlight of my trip. Also, cheers to Ästa (the girl that was serving us drinks on Sunday) for putting up with our loud and utterly crazy jokes and being a great sport about it, she's great, as is all the other staff too. Everyone is great here. Also, special cheers to the younger, blonde guy, with glasses (I can't remember the name, sorry), at the restaurant/bar area, he was great too and as was the a-bit-older-than-the-rest-of-the-staff at the reception - very friendly. Thanks everyone for making my trip great. Will be coming back for sure.

Apelvikstrand Strandhus offers modern, self-catering holiday homes next to Apelvik Beach, 3 km south of central Varberg. Each accommodation has a furnished patio, kitchenette and flat-screen TV. There was really nothing not to like. I did experience a little difficult checking in as it was late and dark, and signage leaves a little to be desired. I have to take partial blame though, as if I had read my emails properly I would have realised there was an app to download that helped matters. The cottages are unpretentious but very nice, the location is unbeatable if scenery is your preference, and I had the good fortune to visit in the off-season making my stay great value. I fully expect the prices to be dramatically different in the high season though.
