Wonderful city to visit for architecture, museums, food, culture and the friendly people. Old and new businesses reflect the history of this beautiful city. Don’t miss wandering the laneways, you’ll always find surprising and delightful places. Lane 79 was a great place to stay and had great food options all around. Easy for catching buses, using Google Maps information.

Anping sights would definitely take up the whole day. Tainan is a lovely place to be with an excellent variety of history, cultural sites, temples, markets, and general fun things to do. Could definitely have stayed longer than 2 full days for a few extra day trips nearby, and to try more of the local things.

Tainan was awesome. There is so much to see and do! The free cultural walking trip of the Confucius Temple and other parts of Tainan was amazing (Emma was my tour guide- she was extremely knowledgeable, her English was excellent, and she was so informative). Anping area had a ton of culture, a market, Temples, and amazing food to enjoy. I also enjoyed the Garden night market (different markets are open on different days). It was busy and crowded but there were so many great vendors selling clothes, jewelry, electronics, and more. The food selection was also impeccable. I was only in Tainan for a day and a half. Tainan is an underrated, if not, underappreciated city that withholds treasures of different sorts for you, the traveler, to discover. The cheap, delectable street food is not to be missed, in addition to the hot sunny days, which could be a relief if you happen to be traveling from the miserably humid city of Taipei. That said, Tainan is best explored on bike/scooter, as many attractions are spread out with quite some distance in between. Fortunately, Tainan's government offers electric YouBikes for rental, which could ease the pedaling by quite a bit.JiamingUnited States

Go inside the family mart and you'll find the orange door to the hostel. If you're afraid to get hungry in the middle of the night, worried not. You can just go down to the family mart and fill your tummy. Besides, the bus station that can take you to explore Tainan is just a walk away from the hostel. (The shower gel provided smells so good. On Sat and Sun, there's two tourist shuttles that's very convenient. One of which reaches the Qigu Salt Mountain.
