Bangkok never sleeps, or so you might think as you fly into Suvarnabhumi International Airport. From luxurious mega malls like MBK and Siam Discovery in Siam Square to the famous Khao San Road in the Banglamphu district, this hard working city is packed with commerce, fiery food and soothing temples.
Catch a boat up river on the Chao Phraya Express or discover different neighbourhoods on the blissfully air-conditioned BTS Skytrain. A taxi or exhilarating tuk-tuk ride is never far away from the big attractions, which include Chinatown, Jim Thompson House and the floating markets at Damnoen Saduak.
To step out of the frenetic energy of street food stalls, amulet markets and the sizzling temperatures, discover an oasis of calm in one of the many Buddhist temples. Be awed by the majesty of the Grand Palace and marvel at the world’s longest reclining Buddha at Wat Pho. While you’re there why not relax even more with a traditional Thai massage?

Bangkok is still living in the covid era. a full 80% of customer facing staff wear masks which is unacceptable and probably 60% of citizens wear them , land of smiles ? no land of masks ! it seems as if no maintenance has been done to street lights and many many shops boarded up. very sad and will not return ..... if you want to relive the unpleasant and wholly unnecessary covid lockdown............. then bankbook is the place. Suvarnabhumi airport is also falling apart. go to another counrty

My second visit to Bangkok and although I did trips every day, I felt there was a lot more to do. My trip to Thailand was 4 days in Bangkok and 6 days in Phuket. Guess I should have stayed 6 days in Bangkok instead. Easy to travel around from my hotel at Princess Pathuman and return safely. Did the hop on boat and did the temples. Went to the Ayutthaya, Bang Pa and a jungle walk, which was challenging. Lots more to see.

Bangkok is a big city, very much like NY or London, a lot...
Bangkok is a big city, very much like NY or London, a lot of sky scrapers and the roads and highways are huge. Difficult to get about if you haven't got transport, either your own or taxis. The central parts of Bangkok are the fullest and busiest, with the usual holiday attractions but remember the traffic is horrendous during peak times. I would recommend you stay close to central parts of Bangkok because the outer areas are mostly residential and not much happening and this way you won't have much travelling to do, unless you choose to. Popular areas are; Sukhumvit, Chatuchat weekend Market, Lumphini, Siam, Lat Phroa, Chinatown, Rattanakosin, amongst others.
Mostly the time spent in Bangkok is going to the malls,( there are many), food courts and the usual holiday attractions, but once you've covered the above, there's little left to do...I prefer staying in beach locations and visiting Bangkok... hope this helps
Hope you enjoy

Bangkok seems to have doubled in size since our last visit...
Bangkok seems to have doubled in size since our last visit when we passed through during the Millennium. It's a great City but it also doesn't feel anything like the rest of Thailand. This feeling was probably influenced by our visit coinciding with the the Songkran festival celebration which, while great fun, just felt like we could have been in lots of other cities as all of far East Asia descended on Bangkok for those days. If you're visiting as part of trip around other parts of Thailand, I would just recommend visiting here first & then going on to see some other places instead of finishing your visit here as we did. It would have been better for our final impression to be an amazing beach location, for example, instead of what is now a fairly generic sprawling city.

The land of mangoes, tuk-tuks and food deliciousness.
The land of mangoes, tuk-tuks and food deliciousness.
Bangkok is hectic. As soon as you land, you get the typical feeling of crowded SEA countries, and the place is a hybrid between some accessible, convenient technologies of bigger, developed cities, and the frantic movement of masses of developing ones, with the perks of everything feeling cheaper too.
Tips:
1. Get an eSIM before you arrive there, if possible, so you’re connected right away. Or else you can get one at the airport too.
2. Take MRT from the city to the airport (it’s quite cheap, clean and just a half hour away).
3. Take a tuk-tuk ride for fun, but beware they’ll try to rip you off every time. So unless you want to deal with that all the time, it’s best to get the “Grab” app (Uber in Thailand). Regular taxis work well too as they charge by the meter and feel safer.
4. An important piece of advice: hassle prices everywhere you go! Especially if you look like a foreigner (i.e. NOT Asian). My first tuk-tuk ride came down from 800 to 150! (THB), imagine!
BKK airport is quite nice - lots of shops, and places to eat and drink (of different categories). Many security entry points, so they’re not crowded, and one passes very quickly.
I have traveled a lot and dare to say that Thai cuisine is my favorite in the world. Coming to Bangkok and actually experiencing local, authentic Thai food was a dream come true, and it exceeded my expectations. I’ll definitely come back to explore more of Thailand soon.
Price/performance ratio can‘t be beat, especially in Bangkok. We were there for a medical appointment, and the hospital was 350 meters away. The apartment is just basic but livable. Fresh water and a clean room every day were a bonus. The man (I forgot his name) at the front desk was an absolute delight. Polite, friendly, and spoke perfect English. He recommended everything in the area to us, and even a delicious authentic Thai restaurant. The best part of this stay was that young man. The hotel is lucky to have him.
Such an amazing find! I understand why this place gets booked out so quickly. Beautiful staff that could not possibly be more helpful, even booked my coach/ferry to Koh Samui and booked an appointment at immigration office for me.
Location is perfect, AMAZING Thai restaurant only a few minutes walk away (Kao Tom Thewet) and although the hotel is close/easy access to everything it is also incredibly quiet and peaceful.
I would never chose to stay anywhere else in Bangkok now.
This location is very close to Terminal 21, a huge mall and great resource to have nearby while traveling. Additionally, the Asok BTS station is at the same corner, and so is the Sukhumvit MRT station, within an easy walk, giving you access to the entire public transit system for Bangkok. Using this as a central location was the best, and the small boutique-ness of the hotels was nice compared to the giant hotel towers nearby.
I have stayed here numerous times when in Bangkok. The hotel is reasonably priced, clean and comfortable and the staff polite. it’s location makes it easy to get to and from the airport via BTS sky train and Airport rail-link. (Airport to hotel costs 71 baht and takes about 30-45 minutes) A lot of restaurants, shopping centres and tourist areas are either within walking distance or a short ride away via the BTS.
Loved this hotel. Clean and well thought out rooms. Good design and a nice café plus restaurant (plants, lots of wood and a nice atmosphere). Eastern and western breakfast with a decent selection. Very central but quite location. Super steady and fast wifi. Zoom calls etc. went absolutely smoothly. Very friendly staff. One of my favourite hotels in Bangkok at a very fair price.
The suite has one of the largest living room in town. The decoration and ambience are beautiful and grand. The living room will give u 180 degrees view of Bangkok’s central business district, one of the rarest scene to get among most of the hotels in town. The location is close to Central World, Gaysorn Plaza and Paragon. Sky train station is within the walk range.
I have stayed here with family on a number of occasions and it was always good and nothing has changed over the years. Perfectly placed in Bangkok. I would like to have stayed longer but my family were in the north of Thailand with family but this is one of my favourite hotels in Bangkok. The perfect stay with a roof top swimming pool.
We were so lucky to find this hotel whilst planning our holiday to Thailand, and we are so happy with our stay there.
Highly recommend it as it is walking distance to the connected BTS which makes travelling around Bangkok even easier, it is also a direct train from the airport :)
Very clean, very quiet, and very good breakfast!
It is one of my favourite hotels in Bangkok. This was my third stay with them and they never disappoint. Very large rooms, breakfast at 81st floor with an amazing view, free access to the revolving deck on 84th floor, 5 minutes away from Ratchaprarop ARL station, next to the Pratunam markets, excelent luggage concierge.
The hotel is nice, the room was clean, and the staff helpful, but a bit overpriced for what it offers (for this price we’ve seen other hotels go above and beyond in Thailand). Breakfast was good, but limited to a small amount and no choices (other places offered a buffet with a lot of options with fresh fruits, etc.)
We stayed in a standard double room as family (2 adults + 1 toddler). Our room has really good size, a big room for a small boutique hotel. Rooms are very nicely designed. It is a true boutique hotel in a very central part of Bangkok. It was also one of the best price performance hotel, we have ever stay in Thailand.
Very nice hotel. Rooms are very nice. Comfort bed. Good size pool and good breakfast.
Staff very friendly and always ready to help and answer questions. They arranged a taxi with a good price to the airport. We had a great stay. Next time when we come to Bangkok we will stay again at the Aira hotel
We stayed here for our time in Bangkok for our holiday. The rooftop pool was a deal breaker for me and it was the perfect price point compared to other hotels with rooftop pools. The breakfast was excellent. Room was clean , comfy, and trendy. Walking distance to mall and train
Still one of my favorite hotels in Bangkok. The walk to the Ari or Saphan Kwai BTS station is not that far and more than worth it for the hotel being set back off the main road in one of Bangkok's most vibrant neighborhoods.
Chose the location/hotel due to its proximity to the Bangkok Immigration Office
Very friendly staff supporting me with some special requests like personal print outs.
Very spacious and new room
I love to try different hotels in Bangkok whenever I travel. But this was perfect enough, price value for money Kudos to the staff for their hospitality. I will come back for sure
Breakfast.
For a hotel with this type of room rate($60ish) the breakfast is far superior than other hotels in this price range. I’ve eaten at many of them throughout Thailand.
The breakfast was just standard quality compare to other hotels in Bangkok with same price range.
The location of hotel was good enough work around or use BTS train.
